Marcus Garlard is arguably one of the most celebrated artists of his generation. After receiving his MFA from the prestigious Woodruck School of Art in Caufton, Ohio, Marcus achieved critical success for his site-specific performances almost overnight. However, due to the tragic events that took place during a performance in the Andes Mountains, Marcus entered into an indefinite period of hiding. He is now the subject of a new documentary, Marcus Garlard: A Necessary Option, directed by amateur nature photographer John Bargenhaver, who seeks to document his challenging return to the art world.
