In the original US release of the NES version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1989) references to the American Pizza restaurant chain Pizza Hut is referenced in the background of the first two levels. However, due to the license for this copyright having already expired, it received similar editing to the Japanese release of that game which removed the references.

Alternate versions
Numinous changes to the games have been made, including music changes and censorship to Apiril O' Neil's cleavage in one of the games.
