A much needed movie on brotherhood in current times!

Tone, Script & Story: The life of a traditional Bhajan singer witnesses a havoc when he comes to know he is Muslim by birth. The situation is more intense than it appears because the family in which he has grown is Brahmin family of pundits.

There comes a moment in movie when ace pundit returns and grabs the victim by heart. The victim touches his feet and this my friends was the most epic moment in the movie.

The other epic moment is when ace pundit gradually reveals the truth followed by victim's speech.

Music is average that goes well when we watch the movie. Direction and acting along with cinematic elements ace!

I today remember my first review was on somewhat similar story "Dharam Sankat Mein" and today I have crossed more than 500 reviews.

Final Verdict: The movie highlights the world would be dull with few colors. The multiple colors of Unity in Diversity make it beautiful. Cheers to this movie which celebrates brotherhood between Hindus and Muslims in current times!

THE GREAT INDIAN FAMILY:-a good timepass film

The great indian family is a family film directed by vijay krishna acharya.

Vicky kaushal is superb in this loud role. It demanded frim him and he gave it his all. Manushi chillar is decent. Kumud mishra and manoj pahwa are brilliant. None of the other characters get that much space. The cast did good.

The romantic angle of vicky and manushi was forceful and lacked any emotional pull. In some sequences, the film tries to preach instead of showing. The screenplay does lose its steam sometimes. The music is good frankly. There are some catchy songs sung pretty well. Its a good film in my opinion.

Having an idea is totally different from execution

Imagine a "PANDIT" who discovers that he is, in fact, a MUSLIM - it's a significant revelation, a really big deal. There's immense potential to turn this into dark humor, incorporating slapstick comedy and transforming it into a masala entertainer with a subtle infusion of social messages emphasizing that, fundamentally, nothing matters more than humanity. However, despite its novel intention and an impressive star cast, the movie falters in tightening the script, delivering adrenaline-thumping music, and executing emotional manipulation. The music, in fact, is so mediocre that you might find yourself skipping it during the movie; none of the tracks are even recognizable from TikToks. Viewers struggle to connect with the emotional scenes, so the only saving grace becomes the occasional giggles, the charisma of Vicky Kaushal, and the captivating presence of Manushi Chhillar (though not necessarily praising her acting skills, just admiring her beauty). If it weren't for the fact that it's available for streaming, I might not have bothered watching it at all.

watch the superior inspiration for this: Dharam Sankat Mein(2015)

I will not discuss the message. Depending on what your view of the world is, this can be seen as good or bad messaging. But, it was not original and the pattern is a little redundant. Dharam Sankat Mein had better actors and a tighter script despite a smaller budget.

This movie became too preachy and didn't stop preaching, through out. The topic as sensitive as this, if handled better could have made a difference in the messaging that the makers wanted to propagate.

Acting was not particularly good. Scenes were mostly lost. Humour did not land. Whatever moral lesson the makers wanted to give, was lost.

Few good moments from Manoj Pahwa and Kumud Mishra, but beyond that, the movie did not hit the mark.

    Good Family Entertainer

The Great Indian Family reassures the values of India we all missing in our societies these days thanks to the misconceptions spread by the media (one sided media). Vicky Kaushal perfectly portrays the dilemma and misconceptions among common Hindu majority people regarding 'The Others'

Kudos to Yash Rah Films and Director Vijay Krishna Acharya for giving this film in this crucial time. Kumud Mishra and Manoj Pahwa give justice to their characters. Manushi Chillar has not much to do in this film except one or two songs.

Along with the social message film also comment on the family values. Expected some more emotional scenes but the movie is good family entertainer.
