Once again yet another film that explains nothing to you as in subject matter or character background information, On top of that there is nobody you give a real damn about so, I found myself not caring what happened to anyone in the film. Both parties that are vying for control of the films main character are totally untrustworthy and very dislike-able and, the main character himself is just your typical youth, unthinking, rash and a petulant dipstick.
I think the directing of this film left a lot to be desired and the story (though a fairly good idea) just rambled about in an non thrilling meander. The only thing that was well presented, choreographed and enacted were the action/fight scenes.
This may have been a far more interesting film had a talent like Guillermo del Toro had been the director.

Awareness is a sci-fi movie that tries to be clever and original, but ends up being boring and predictable. The movie follows a teenager who can alter what others perceive. The movie promises to be a thrilling and mind-bending adventure, but it falls short on every aspect.
It has a weak plot, full of clichés, inconsistencies, and logical flaws. The movie starts with a dull and confusing introduction, that does not explain anything about Ian's abilities or motivations. The movie then proceeds to drag on with pointless scenes and dialogues, that do not advance the story or develop the characters. The movie also has some ridiculous twists and revelations, that make no sense and contradict what was shown before.
It also has a mediocre cast, with poor acting and chemistry. Most of cast is bland and unconvincing even annoying or wasted and forgettable.. Almost none is having any charisma.
The movie has some terrible visual effects and cinematography, that ruin the immersion and the suspense. The film tries to create a vivid and realistic world, but uses cheap and cheesy CGI, that look fake and cartoonish. The movie also uses shaky and blurry camera work, that make the action scenes hard to follow and enjoy.
Overall, 'Awareness' is a movie that will disappoint you and make you regret wasting your time and money. It is a low-quality sci-fi movie that does not deliver on its premise.
I give it 4 out of 10 stars.

In this Spanish sci-fi film Ian is a teenager with a strange power; he can create mental illusions that others perceive as reality, at least while he is influencing them. With his father he uses it for low level scams. Anything too big would attract the wrong kind of attention. Inevitably this ultimately happens and Ian is about to learn that he isn't the only one with such powers. Captured by a shadowy agency he is told that he is needed to protect against others like him who abuse the powers on a large scale; in particular a dangerous individual known as 'The Mule'. Following an escape others tell him that it is the agency that is the real danger... who is he to believe? Given their powers can he even believe the evidence of his own eyes?
I thought this was an enjoyably sci-fi film. Not surprisingly there are plenty of twists and turns before the end. I liked how these kept the viewer guessing as to which, if either, side could be considered the good side. There is a good amount of action which features fairly solid special effects. The cast does a solid job. Inevitably one is likely to be reminded of other films while watching; such as 'Hanna', 'Inception' and 'The Matrix'... even though this isn't too like any of them. The most obvious nod is to the 'Foundation' series by Isaac Asimov with a character with telepathic powers known as The Mule. Overall an enjoyable sci-fi with good amount of action; I'd recommend giving it a go.

I understand that people have different preferences and standards for quality, but it's important to consider the kind of expectations you have when watching a movie.
This film offers a decent experience with a script that includes some unexpected twists, but it might not live up to everyone's standards. The production values are good, with nice effects and direction. The lead actor does a fine job, contributing to a narrative that's engaging enough for a casual watch. It's important to set appropriate expectations; if you're hoping for a groundbreaking sci-fi epic, this might not be it. Overall, it's a fair movie, worthy of about a 6.5/10. It won't blow you away, but it's a reasonable choice for a relaxed movie night.

The concept is interesting, but the execution is confusing. It really comes down to whom do you root for? During WWII, there was a secret program to create people who could make other people see things that are not there, and also control them. After the war, those people were no longer needed, so there was an extermination campaign, but some escaped. So there seems to be two sides, but neither side seems totally good nor totally bad and who is really right? We meet early on Ian and his father. Ian can make people see things that are not there, so that is ideal to pull off petty crimes to get things without getting caught. And Ian's father wants to keep things low level, as he knows there are those hunting for Ian, so don't draw attention. But Ian wants to live a normal life, and soon gets discovered. So both sides are after him. There are some well choreographed fight scenes, some with a high body count. But things get confusing, who do you trust, and besides, few of the characters are difficult to care about. And that is the real flaw.
