The Terrible Old Man

This short film is based on the H.P. Lovecraft story of the same name. While it follows the story fairly closely it does expand a bit on a few points. The the three thieves are fleshed out with distinct personalities now being given to them as well as a criminal background that seems to be escalating in it's use of violence. While this production heavily dates itself with its music and filming style, it still has a lot of staying power. A lot of effort was put into the titular character to make him look as other worldly as possible. While the overall result is a tad cheesy, you can tell that the filmmakers really tried hard, had talent, but only lacked a quality budget. Additional, the rest of film is pretty funny. While I'm not convinced that it was all intentional the dialog has a major cheese factor to it that really endured me to it. I hope the filmmakers had as much fun making it as I had watching it. I recommend this to fans of the short story, especially if you are a fan of cheesy horror movies.
