Suspenseful critique on the nature of Art

The film is beautifully shot and full of authentic performances that lend an unexpected dose of comedy to the building suspense.

An intriguing glimpse into the life of a tortured artist that also manages to question the very nature of art and what significance we should grant it.

The fraught relationship between the artist and his assistant is particularly enjoyable, providing the film with its emotional heart.

Matt Gentleman's innovative cinematography beautifully underlines the abstract nature of the artist's own work while Ross Carson's direction skilfully teases out the artist's spiralling descent into madness.
