I almost rated this a ten because it's such great camp fun! The movie has a good storyline, some great acting, lots of fun goofy special effects on a very low budget, hot gay vampires and... little short, round witches along the lines of the medium in The Exorcist. I only rated it a nine because of the last 5 or 10 minutes of the movie... which I couldn't spoil if I had to because I have no idea what I was watching happen. LOL!
I think the people who are saying it's terrible and rating it so low may be hearing a *whoosh* as it goes right over their heads. This is not meant to be taken seriously. I mean, please! How can anyone watch VBIN and not laugh at Charlotte's intentionally stereotyped New Jersey accent and attitude that is out of place in a "horror" movie? C'mon, people, this isn't Masterpiece Theater here, nor was it meant to be. It's pure camp along the lines of Flash Gordon, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Batman:The Movie, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, and every John Waters picture ever made!
I loved it. Except... although I've watched it about ten times, I still have no idea what happened, or why, in those last 5 or 10 minutes. I'm actually wondering if it was left with that ending with the intention of making a sequel that never materialized.
At any rate, I'm sure I'll watch it another ten times.

I realize a "helpful" review typically tells you a little about the good and/or bad of a movie, but trust me when I just say "NO."
After watching many of last year's gay vampire themed movies, I found this to be the best of the lot. Not that it's very good, or even good, but incomparable better than flops like 'The Vampire Boys' (1&2) or 'Kissing Darkness'. However poor the special effects, they could be find in modest sitcoms, and are ages afar the cited rival films. The main problem I found is the acting. Apart from Lucas (Rhys Howells) the main vampire, the cast can hardly deliver their lines, what is made more difficult because of the exaggerate fangs they wear. At least, most of the main cast of vampires is very cute, what may make you dismiss how bad they act. In a general evaluation, I find the movie passable for fans of the genre, that will have two hours of entertainment in a flick that had a necessary continuation in Vampires: Lucas Rising.
Okay let me start by saying my star rating is very generous since this was such a low budget instalment. However let me explain that it's my love of all things vampire (save for Twilight) and the chemistry between the actors and the overall feeling I got from the film that inspired my generosity.
This is a vampire love story and while the lead characters are gay that is not the focus of the piece. The storyline is unique, the CGI FX are middle school at best and poorly mixed but for the budget it's acceptable. The acting isn't Oscar worthy with acceptation to the fact that the lead actors are not gay but portray that trait with believability, this is the first professional gig many of the actors in it have done. Not a bad piece to cut your teeth on, in my opinion..
This film is the edited down compilation of a series but could have done with another go at the editing room to further reduce the run time without taking away from the story.
Being a fan of big budget productions I can see how easy it would be to be critical of the components that feel lacking but when the focus is put on the parts that are amazing it makes acceptance easier.
If you are looking for a fun vampire romp with fangs, flesh, blood and preternatural abilities this is for you. If you want big budget then Twilight is that way.

Saw this cool Low budget (£20,000) Movie at the Iris Festival in Cardiff Wales UK and was thoroughly entertained!!
