It's an exciting day for fans of the Prime Video post-apocalyptic series Fallout. Season 2 of the show, based on the beloved video game franchise that counts its fanbase in the millions, has just wrapped filming.

Ella Purnell, who plays Lucy MacLean, shared a picture of herself with her onscreen dad Kyle MacLachlan, who plays Hank MacLean. At the end of season one, Lucy realized her father had betrayed her, and Hank fled towards New Vegas while Lucy teamed up with the Ghoul (Walton Goggins). This set photo indicates that the two characters cross paths again in Season 2 - as fans probably expected given how important both characters are to the plot.

Exclusive: Warm Bodies and A Discovery Of Witches actress Teresa Palmer has been set to star with Russell Crowe, Nina Dobrev and Kartiah Vergara in action-thriller Bear Country, which is currently filming in Australia.

Helmed by Derrick Borte, Bear Country follows an ageing but formidable club owner, Manco Kapak (Crowe), who is robbed by a masked gunman, leaving his aspirations of selling his club and riding off into the sunset alongside his razor sharp girlfriend Sunny (Palmer) more distant than ever. Palmer has the female lead role.

Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe is set to film his latest movie in Queensland, Australia, bringing a significant economic boost to the Gold Coast region. The action thriller “Bear Country” will begin production in February, transforming local landscapes into a stand-in for Los Angeles.

Crowe will play Manco Kapak, a club owner whose retirement plans are disrupted by a dramatic robbery. The film reunites him with director Derrick Borte, with whom he previously worked on the movie “Unhinged.”

The production is expected to generate approximately $7.4 million for the local economy and create jobs for 95 people. Both the City of Gold Coast and the Australian government have supported the project through their location offset program.

“The Gold Coast’s incredible natural environment will shine in ‘Bear Country’ when it conveniently doubles as Los Angeles,” said Arts Minister John-Paul Langbroek, highlighting the region’s appeal for filmmaking.

Screen Queensland CEO Jacqui Feeney emphasized the project’s broader impact.

Oscar winner Russell Crowe is set to return to Queensland, Australia, for the action thriller “Bear Country,” with cameras rolling this February, Screen Queensland revealed Thursday.

The project reunites Crowe with “Unhinged” helmer Derrick Borte, who will direct from a script he penned with Daniel Forte, based on Thomas Perry’s novel “Strip.” The duo previously collaborated on “American Dreamer.”

In “Bear Country,” Crowe portrays Manco Kapak, a veteran club owner whose plans for a peaceful retirement with his girlfriend are derailed when a masked assailant robs his establishment.

The production, which carries an estimated AUD11.9 million ($7.4 million) economic impact for the region, is expected to employ approximately 95 local workers. The Gold Coast will stand in for Los Angeles, utilizing the area’s diverse locations.

“Queensland’s international reputation as a production powerhouse continues to grow,” said Arts Minister John-Paul Langbroek, noting the significance of the state’s Production Attraction Strategy in securing the project.

David Handelman, a print journalist turned TV writer who worked on the Aaron Sorkin series Sports Night, The West Wing, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and The Newsroom, has died. He was 63.

Handelman died Aug. 15 at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York from complications of Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia, a rare blood cancer, producer David Van Taylor told The Hollywood Reporter.

Handelman also wrote for the 2006 CBS series Love Monkey; for season six (2008-09) of The CW’s One Tree Hill; for season two (2013-14) of ABC’s Nashville; and for season three (2015) of DirecTV’s Rogue.

Most recently, he was a staff producer and writer for almost a decade on CNN’s Smerconish, which paid tribute to him on the air in the days after his death.

Borte, alongside Daniel Forte (American Dreamer), wrote the screenplay based on the Thomas Perry novel, Strip. A Higher Standard will handle sales at the Cannes market.

Kudrow played the offbeat and lovable Phoebe Buffay on the iconic sitcom, opposite Perry's sarcastic goofball Chandler Bing, as part of an ensemble that also included David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, and Matt LeBlanc. Perry's career beyond Friends showcased his versatility as an actor, with roles in other comedies like Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip as well as dramatic performances in The Ron Clark Story and The West Wing. Perry's portrayal of complex characters, such as Mike Kresteva on The Good Wife and Joe Quincy on The West Wing, demonstrated his acting skills and ability to take on challenging roles.

The late Matthew Perry charmed the world as Chandler Bing for ten seasons, but the actor also shined in multiple roles outside of Friends in film and television. What makes “Strip” so consistently funny for most of its too-long two-hour running time isn’t Merlin’s lame prestidigi-dream (that part feels like co-writers Chris Spencer and Eric Daniel have been watching too many Nickelodeon movies) but the sorry state of his fellow dancers: a has-been crew called the Chocolate Chips. Daniel Fienberg: It’s hard to tell the story of Spring TV in 2023 without discussing HBO’s Succession and Barry, as well as Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso. Those three shows, two definitely finished and one seemingly coming to an end, represented four of the last six Emmy wins for outstanding drama and comedy series, as well as many nominations for acting, writing and directing. With their shocking deaths, wild deviations in tone and, in the case of Ted Lasso, expanded episode running times, they’ve dominated social media and water cooler conversations since March.

That’s why we’re not going to focus on them here. There’s more to TV than Barry, Succession and Ted Lasso — or at least HBO and Apple hope there is after the upcoming awards season concludes.
