After the success of Red (2010), Ernest Borgnine hoped he'd be around to reprise his role as Henry the records keeper in a sequel. When interviewed in April 2012, he mentioned there was talk about it over the years and made one request to the producers; "I told them if they do it, I want to carry a gun this time." He kept in touch with screenwriters Jon Hoeber and Erich Hoeber and would have had a major role in an early scene. When Borgnine passed away in July 2012, three months prior to the start of production, his scenes were re-written and featured an uncredited Titus Welliver.

Goofs
(at around 41 mins) When Sarah is begging the Frog to talk (where she kisses him), his glasses are alternatively on his face or folded in her hands between different shots.

Enjoyable action flick taking the good from the first

My quick rating - 7,1/10. The over the hill spies are at it again. The first movie was thoroughly enjoyable and I have to say this sequel is on par with the first. Quality action scenes edited together very well to keep the motion going without getting lost. Actors put in enough character to drive the spy-game storyline through enough to make you care about it and not just sit back and watch guns blaze. Anthony Hopkins character was exceptionally well done and was a needed jolt into the flick for sure. It is a rare occasion that you can say the sequel may have been better then the first but.....

Well, I will have to let you decide that one. All and all a well made picture.
