    not believable

It's not possible to get the type of renovations shown on Property Brothers at the prices they claim. Unless you are having the work done by a family member, friend or subsidized TV show contractor, multiply the stated costs by at least 2.5 to get a more realistic idea of what this type of rehab will cost you. The show is somewhat entertaining, and it's interesting to see the type of run-down houses that are on the market for big prices. I noticed that they don't show all of the rooms on the show, only the glamor rooms like kitchen and living. Is it really a good idea to have the homeowners participate in knocking down walls and taking out windows?

    Almost a 10

I would have given this show a higher review because overall I definitely feel it is MUCH better than the average 3.3 stars it is setting at right now. For me, as someone who loves the idea of a fixer-upper this is the dream show and is perfect for HGTV. The only issue I have with this show is the length. It is only a half hour and there is too much material vying for TV time. I feel an hour for these two seasoned individuals would be more adequate. A half hour devoted to looking at the fixer-uppers, the options of how they could be fixed up and then a half hour devoted for the demo, a deeper look at how the renovation went and the "before and after" shots.

The brothers are great. Those homeowners though...

The enjoyment of this show relies much on the natural charm and charisma of the Scott brothers. If you like them, you'll probably like the show. The identical twins are good looking, energetic, humorous, and good with often difficult homeowners. I love them! Those homeowners though... I don't know where they find some of these people or why they select them for the show. The Property Brothers have been on TV for a while, so it should be obvious to everyone what they do and how they do it. However, just about every episode includes homeowners who:

    * Want to buy a move-in ready house with no renovations needed (rendering Jonathan useless, I guess).

    * Want a house way out of their price range (a quick look at real estate listings could have told them that).

    * Are super picky and controlling about every little detail (then why call a TV show that involves someone designing and renovating your home?).

It gets to the point where I think the show's producers just want to generate drama for the show by selecting homeowners that will butt heads with the brothers.

If it weren't for the lovable brothers, I would not bother watching this show. I would be happy to call them, and they can design my house however they want! I won't even fight them over backsplash tiles.

    Lame 1990s styling on everything...

These guys are so out of touch with modern times it's a laugh to watch them. They are about 20 years behind times in their designs, You could be blindfolded and ears plugged, and you can tell exactly what's going on in the show.

    They do everything this way:

    1. Trick buyers into thinking they are seeing a property for sale, but it's all a scam to get them to go into a Renovation house. Sometimes. from what's been said about the show, this is all an act, the people already bought the house, Shame on the Bros!

    2. View dumps and pick two to decide about. The buyers are told a Pie in the Sky story about how wonderful it will all turn out, then always get surprised by something. Don't they have home inspectors?

    3. They always pick the crappiest one.

    4. Every single home is reno'ed with that 1990s open floor design. Even if the house has some sort of historical appeal, the inside has to be gutted and redone in a style that is already dated as soon as it's done.

    5. Stupid timelines to create a false impression of tremendous pressure to GET IT DONE! But if it can't be, they will extend the deadline.

    6. Dumbass deconstruction with sledge hammers, wrecking good stuff that can be sent to recycling centers. Don't these guys know we're already past the year 2000 and recycling is smart?

    7. More dumbass deconstruction of very nice retro period designs that only need some sprucing up, and then idiotic replacement with stuff a decade past it's day, but nowhere near retro yet.

    8. Always the SAME THING week after week, show after show. The buyers' faces change.

And what is this stuff about most homes being over $500,000 up to $900,000? Where are they buying these things?

Time to turn the channel to This Old House, where they do things smartly and correctly without show business baloney.

Property Brothers: Definitely a must-see show!

I love this show! I was hooked from the 1st episode.

Out of the 13 episodes in season 1, all of them were intriguing to watch since all the couples had completely different styles, wish lists and budgets. Plus, with each episode you get to watch the handsome brothers combine their individual talents to make one dynamic team.

If I did have to pick one favourite episode, it would be the very first episode I watched with couple Stefan & Owen. Watching their doubting reactions when Drew showed them the older homes that had potential was over-the-top and funny. They couldn't even see Jonathan's vision of possibilities. They definitely changed their opinions and reactions at the incredible reveal.

Can't wait for season 2 and double the episodes.
