This moronic abomination is not a movie. This is arguably the worst, most insipid film that has ever been released. I have never seen a movie so badly made, that fails on so many levels. By the end of the movie, I actually felt like killing myself. It's not even hilariously bad (ala Waterworld, Showgirls or Gigli) - it's the cinematic equivalent of a drunk homeless man projectile vomiting into your face.
Where to begin? The movie is neither entertaining nor well-done. The script is an absolute turkey and the dialogue is just awful - veering from attempts at gallows humour (which fail miserably) to what appears to be vulgarity for vulgarity's sake.
The camera-work looks like it was shot by an epileptic crackhead. The background music is so loud that you can't hear what's being said. Some shots seem to have been close-cropped and zoomed in on so much that you're literally staring at a bunch of pixels on the screen. Overall, the effect is less chaotic and more "I don't understand what's actually happening". It's practically unwatchable in parts. Even the special effects are merely ordinary. There are no scary moments in the movie, nothing that even gives you a feeling of tension.
You could forgive the poor execution (no pun intended) if the script or any of the characters were even remotely engaging or sympathetic. Sadly, there's nothing interesting about it at all. To call the characters cardboard is to insult a useful packing material. Their motivations are flimsy, their reactions illogical - the script is essentially nothing more than a gimmick to set up each murder scene. If the people writing this don't care enough to put any effort in, how are we, as the audience, supposed to care either? In even the worst horror films, if you can't find the characters enjoyable, you at least find them irritating enough to enjoy their death scene - in this movie, you are robbed of any enjoyment because you simply do not care. The protagonists are equally bad - they convey no sense of menace and aren't even well-written enough to be unlikeable. Whatever this movie set out to be, it just ends up being a sad, contrived attempt at aping the success of classic films like Last House on the Left, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and I Spit On Your Grave.
This is just a flawed, bad movie, an insult to the viewer's intelligence and not scary at all. Really the only thing that scares me is that I actually paid to watch this mess.

So when I heard about 'Australia's most f*cked up indie film' it was clear to me from the start it would be a bit of a joke. Anything with that level of un-professionalism would undoubtedly not be anything worth writing home about, and of course I wasn't wrong. So just for laughs I rented it out with a friend and believe me when I say I was tempted to ask for my $5 back as it was not even worth $1.
From the very beginning the intentions of the movie are unclear. Actually, to be perfectly honest the entire movie made very little sense. Characters that had literally no importance in the movie had long, drawn out, pointless scenes that ended abruptly without any development or explanation and were not again revisited through the entire movie. In many parts it felt as though the disk was scratched or something as scenes cut and changed so abruptly and unnecessarily that we were left totally confused as to what was even going on.
As for the so called 'FX' there were literally none. All of the killing scenes used dodgy home made looking limbs that were pretty obviously made of silicone or something along those lines. I think the maker of the film must have known they weren't too crash hot though as all of the promised 'gore' was generally only flashed into view for a second or so and then back to the weirdo attacking it. I have seen that many other reviews already addressed the disastrous attempts at lighting and sound so I wont go into that however that really did add insult to injury.
The acting wasn't completely terrible, though 'Jonny' was the most annoying character of all time, but the rest did what they could with the lack of substance provided to them.
The script was probably the only horrific part of this movie. Almost every second word was explicit, and the word 'c**t' was even thrown in there a few times to really cross the line of Australian, and just plain, cheap, dirty, bogan, trash. The swearing was so unnecessary and didn't add any kind of substance or 'passion' to scenes at all. There were even multiple rape attempts throughout that were just poorly portrayed.
Overall, I am the most easily scared person and I usually end up behind a pillow during horror movies, so for me to be able to honestly say that I sat there squinting at the dark screen to try and work out what was going on without so much as even jumping or flinching once, really says something, which ultimately is what was really wrong with this 'horror' film; it was in no way scary or even gory at all. It was merely confusing, pointless and immensely boring. I had to force myself to sit through the whole thing. Don't waste your time or money on this film. I defiantly will not make the same mistake twice and torture myself with any of this guy's future 'work.' Without a doubt, the WORST movie I ever have, and I presume ever will, see in my life.

Where the hell do I begin? I paid thirty bucks for a DVD which says "Directorzs cut" on the front of it. What sweatshop was this turd printed in??? It'd be funny if it weren't so pathetic.
Even by the standards of bad Australian cinema, COME AND GET ME is a real stinker. The humour is puerile, the level of ambition on display is close to zero. On top of that, it doesn't even look good; the images are drab and uninteresting.
I can only hope that this movie marks the lowest point in Australian cinema.
I mean, I think what depressed me about it was the, as I said, there was just no ambition there. It's just lowest common denominator stuff. I honestly can't even give this one star.
I've seen better videos on Youtube. For god's sake, don't waste your money.

Writer/director Chris Sun is a cool and amiable guy whom I met a couple of times when he came to personally introduce his films "Charlie's Farm" and "Boar" at the Brussels' International Fantastic Film Festival. Sun is a self-made man, with a vast knowledge of horror movie history and an even bigger love for the classics of the 70s and 80s. Are his films must-see genre classics? Nope, but they are a lot of fun and deliver plentiful in the gore, filth, and sleaze-departments.
His debut film "Come and Get Me", on the other hand, I'm not ravingly enthusiast about. I respect and admire how it's a zero-budgeted slasher with still a lot of focus on professional looking gory make-up effects, but it's such an incredibly unpleasant and nauseating trip! This thing is even more sickening than the misogynic slashers of the late 70s/early 80s ("Maniac", "Don't Go in the House", "Bloodrage", ...) and basically just exists of 90 minutes of deranged lunatics chasing after screaming girls in the woods; then killing them barbarically. Difficult to watch not only because of the vile content, but also because the shaky handheld camera makes you seasick. I also understood approximately one out of ten sentences that were spoken, due to the Aussie dialects (and no subtitles) and the poor sound quality.

Really enjoyed this film. Amazing effects in the gore scenes, a story that held the interest, we were left wanting to see more. A number of very good performances here from the cast. The character Johnny was definitely a favorite, played by Christian Radford in a performance that could yet see him collecting some awards. Fine effort. Shaun Trainer also played a strong role and these two really had us fearing for anyone they came across. This was well shot for such a low budget effort. Good angles, nice editing and pacing held together well. Very creative effects, which definitely worked. Overall a dam good effort. I can't wait to see the next film to come from this filmmaker. Certainly one to keep an eye on.
