The stories are so real that you feel connected to each character at some level. A soothing and engrossing series. Modern Love is actually a group of stories of us and the people around us. People who love to live in denial of modern concepts of live might find it absurd. However, everyone should watch it to get a perspective on the modern society.
What an ensemble of talented actors and directors! Heartily created stories...beautifully rendered. Many moments from the series touch a nerve...many scenes take us back to the fond memories lived in the lanes of Mumbai. Do watch once.
All stores in this series start with good subject but slowly looses the plot. Except for the peppy and hilarious Mumbai Dragon & a bold but realistic My Beautiful Wrinkles, there's nothing much going on in the rest of the stories.
Vishal Bhardwaj does an awesome job with the age old subject the relationship between a mother her son and the son's partner.
Alankrita Shrivastava also beautifully handles the topic of love and romance and the expectations around it especially when there is a big age gap between the participating couple.
All actors have tried to give their best but its the writing and the overall treatment that a let down.
I would say its an honest attempt to show something fresh but still lacks the emotional punch.

Nice stories.
Realistic and very relatable.
All stories are unique, some a little offbeat but worth watching Individual stories, woven together at the end.
Would love to watch more of these.

Modern love:mumbai is a comedy romance show consisting of 6 different stories. Here are the positives and negatives.
Raatrani: it is directed by shonali bose. Fatima sana sheikh has given an outstanding performance. She got a sweet and naive kashmiri character and did full justice to it. Her accent was well worked upon and she didn't miss a beat in the runtime. The metaphor of crossing a bridge and moving on is so beautifully and artistically done. And if you are stressing upon the title watch it and you will get to know.
Baai:it is directed by hansal mehta. Who wouldn't want to see the jodi of pratik and hansal together again?(laughs) they have done it again together. Pratik gandhi has touched upon the nuances of a gay character beautifully. Does not come as stereotypical or cliche but just genuine. Ranveer brar too as his partner is so so good. The dialogues are so well written. The one shot sequence of the 1992 bombay riot was excellently done.
Mumbai dragon:this is directed by vishal bhardwaj. Yeo yann yann is so brilliant man. Such a pure character and she has played it beautifully. Meiyang chang and wamiqa gabbi do their roles as given. The humour was on point in this episode. Also it has given such a poke on the racism that is present towards the mongolian face-cut people. This is a brilliant story with an ever so brilliant ending. Just keep your brain working towards vishal sir's craft.
My beautiful wrinkles:it is directed by alankrita shrivastava. Such a mature take on the sexual desires of two individuals from two different age groups. Brilliantly acted by sarika as well. Danesh razvi also did his best portraying a nervous yet bold character. There are some problems in the screenplay though, it stretches a bit.
I love thane:-this is directed by dhruv sehgal. Masaba gupta is growing and growing as an actor. Such an understated performance. Ritwick bhowmick is just brilliant all along. He can be a star in the upcoming years. But the story here looks a bit superficial i would say.
Cutting chai:this is directed by nupur asthana. Arshad warsi and chitrangada singh do a fine job here no doubt but the story lacks the punch. There is a brilliant conglomeration too between all the leads from all the stories but still is not enough. This needed some more good writing tbh.
This is altogether a wonderful show. I rate it 8 out of 10.
