‘Modern Love’ Third Iteration Sets Release

Prime Video has set May 18 for the global release of its upcoming Indian anthology series “Modern Love Chennai.” This is the third Indian adaptation of “Modern Love,” the internationally acclaimed original anthology directed by John Carney, following “Modern Love Mumbai” and “Modern Love Hyderabad.”

Produced under the banner of Tyler Durden and Kino Fist, with Thiagarajan Kumararaja as the creator, the six-episode anthology presents a bouquet of love stories set in the city of Chennai that explore relationships, push boundaries, and open minds.

“Love stories and rom-coms have never been my cup of tea. To prepare for her part, the actress saw the popular films from the 1950s to 1960s to sketch up her part.

Having grown up in a family who watched black and white movies together, Wamiqa revealed she jumped on to the opportunity when she was offered ‘Jubilee’. It was not just a huge nostalgic factor for her, but also a challenge as an actress.

Chef and actor Ranveer Brar has announced that his food channel on YouTube has gone sharper as it is the first in India to be 4K. 4K in digital television and cinematography – technology, equipment, or content providing a very sharp image quality, with a horizontal screen resolution of around 4000 pixels.

Exclusive: Amazon Prime Video India bosses Aparna Purohit and Gaurav Gandhi have outlined their strategy for super-serving the country’s diverse audiences, and revealed a plan to push into true crime and investigative doc series.

In their first interview since unveiling a 40-strong slate of original films and TV shows in April, the pair said constantly engaging with the “well developed creative ecosystems” in India’s various language segments, which include Hindi and Tamil, has been key to the Amazon Prime Video’s local impact since launching there more than five years ago.

In practice, Country Head Gandhi said this involved considerable research and insight gathering to assess what original films and shows could cut through locally and then assessing how that could transcend cultural barriers.

“Each segment is looked at in isolation first to see if we can super-serve an audience — maybe young adults or women, for example,” he said.
