                clear as mud

A new genre is gaining momentum in international cinema, a genre I would be tempted to call "incomprehensible". In this movie we meet in effect only one character, a youngish trilingual woman with at least three names (let's call her Katja), who for unclear reasons is spending some time in a Swiss chalet. Most of Katja's time is spent fiddling with all sorts of hi-tech gadgets (smart phones, microphones, tablets, displays.....) and answering calls from various individuals all speaking in riddles and issuing not-so-thinly veiled threats. Her skills with plugs, cables, androids etc. Are truly amazing. Although she keeps reminding her interlocutors that she is fully retired from her chosen profession (espionage?), they all sound skeptical and they keep harassing her.

Now and again some other characters turn up, in what one might call cameo appearances, but since most of the scenes are in pitch darkness, their role is never clearly defined. An occasionally mentioned connection to the 2008 American presidential election has left me floored.

All in all, a complete waste of about 90 minutes of valuable time. The movie however does have one redeeming feature: the Swiss mountainscape is truly stunning.

Main story too simple, superficial love story!

A truly depressing film, also depressing the love story between the two protagonists especially for lack of courage or budget or both, with a little more courage and also the desire for the interpreters would certainly have shown us something more Interesting and more intense, even the spy main story is very mediocre almost improvised, returning to the love story between the two protagonists how to stage a story that is never shown properly, I don't know how to show us Some flashbacks show us a few more encounters between two gold to make us more participate to make us immerse more in this love story so it is all flawless and empty you cannot become attached to anything and no main story including !!

                Easy to Follow Espionage Thriller

I am unsure why so many people are unable to follow this simple plot. The script is makes it easy to follow and Asia Argento does a really good job whilst being on screen in every scene, helping to move the storyline along at a good pace.

With flashbacks assisting with the story, you get to see a love story intertwined with a plot to topple a political outcome. Which seems a lot more relevant nowadays than when this was originally made.

The director, Jerome Dassier keeps the viewer engaged with what is almost a one room drama, not an easy job.

This was a well executed thriller. Nicely shot with atmospheric music helping to keep you on edge. Highly enjoyable.

                What is more than urgent?

Argento? No pun intended - also one would have to clarify that one is talking about Asia (at least in this case) - as far as I can tell her father is not involved. Not that I think it is possible to make this worse ... well actually ... he might be able to! He has proven that there is no bottom.

I did engage and had my suspension of disbelief switched on ... all the way on that is. Acting wise this was not ... well I have seen worse - but I also know that Aisa can do a lot better. Don't be fooled by one performance - one way or the other. The story is quite simple, the mystery keeps it a little interesting. Still I am being kind with my rating I assume ...

Not horrible but really lacking in clarity

Maybe I'm just not good at understanding political movies since politics isn't something I follow, but the twisty plot in this movie didn't make a lot of sense.

Charlie was her recruiter, was her girlfriend, was removed from the picture, came back and Anne is nothing but suspicious of her, with reason. In the end though it's hard to understand who's side is doing the shooting. Mikihov and the 3rd faction wiyh unexplained interests or was it Turners team?

All of that aside, I really did enjoy the use of essentially only a few locations for the entire movie, the acting was pretty good for the majority of the movie but a few unrealistic things made her seem like an amateur and not a qualified espionage agent. Her use of a shotgun was horrible. Some of her decisions also seemed out of place but that's more on the director.
