Casanovva

I saw the movie yesterday, when the DVD got released. I wanted to watch this movie in the first place when it got released. But, due to the heavy negative reviews, i thought to wait till DVD release. The movie was not bad at all. Not the one movie to be remembered. I can say that the most stylish movie in Malayalam. Mohanlal as Cassnovva shines. But in some scenes, he doesn't suit the role and looks older. The first half went off like a roller-coaster but second half was OK (seems to be so boring in parts). So many unwanted dialogues and scenes makes the movie lil bit terrible. Songs are good. The BGM for the whole movie was peppy, but Gopi Sunder should minimize the unwanted noises.. LOL..

The new guys was not too good but they were OK.

All in whole ill give 6.8 out of 10.

Mohanlal is back with once again a blunder. The script is so lame that you realize that there is NO "Casanova" factor in this movie. Lest any relationships, emotions or likewise.

This one hides under the masquerade of a thriller but proves to be too feeble. The characters are half-baked and not at all legit.

Waste of time, waste of money and waste of brilliant actors who forl the cast of this biggest blunder of 2011.

There should be a reason why a film is made. The Director himself agreed that was a bad creation. 1/10 for the Roshan Andrews not to commit these mistakes again.

Very bad script plus bad acting of Hero Mohanlal. Time for him to retire. Self boosting unnecessarily without substance. Just showing expensive backgrounds, locations, does not mean the movie can create a wow factor. Copying from Hollywood without supportive script will always downfall the entire movie.

Its really a waste of time.

Old movies were good, but this is total disaster, cannot watch more than 30 minutes.

We watch Malayalam movie to get a feel of Kerala and characters of Malayalee. This movie is just opposite of our expectation.

Where are those script writers, directors gone from the Malayalam Film industry.

"Casanovva"is a stylish flick with some shabby screenplay and leaves a lot to be desired in the end. Mohanlal as the modern day mallu version of the Italian adventurer & author Giacomo Casanova shoulders the movie throughout. The playboy character wouldn't go down well with the conservative malayalee society, but i loved every bit of it, courtesy my fondness for western movies. The locations, The action scenes and the background score were all so stylish, probably the best in Malayalam movies. But what would that offer if it's all dunked in a rather poor script! And that's where Casanovva stoops as a passable affair! Well, blame it on the promotions and hype, not to mention the expectations!

The music and cinematography needs special appreciation for giving us the exotic feel, dialogs in shades so rhetoric and rather inane at times, it takes irritatingly long to convince us the magic of love in the second half - should mention the magic didn't workout - and its unbelievably numb towards the end. The casting was okay, riyaz khan gets a meaty role and the others never outta place. I loved shriya saran for the first time sans skimpy outfits, the love chemistry with mohanlal was good. Boy oh boy! had it been made with suavity, the movie would have been magnificent. Fair enough, its still a watchable ride. Go fall in love...
