Fasshon heru

This low-budget Japanese movie somewhat resembles one of the late 80's/early 90's no-budget efforts of American directors like Fred Olen Ray, Dave Decoteau, or Jim Wynorski ("Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers", "Evil Toons", "Beverly Hills Vamp"). It has a small cast isolated at a single location and it relies a lot on topless female nudity and rather tame softcore sex, with bone-headed humor mitigating the actual horror and gore. Befitting the new millennium though, it's much more outrageous. It has the same basic plot as "Beverly Hills Vamp" with a lot of horny guys being dispatched by prostitutes at a sinister brothel/massage parlor, but there is more of an emphasis on bloody castration scenes, although they're still played strictly for laughs.

The three female leads are all played by former AV (adult video) starlets. The most famous is Asami, who has been in a lot of films like this and is relatively talented in that she can play both a badass and a more traditionally submissive female role. She gets to do both here. And if you find it either funny or sexy (I don't really), she and her male partner here both end up farting in each others' faces at different points. Asami and the other girls show a lot of "T", but not enough "A", and of course no "V" (or "P"?) since this is Japanese. The Japanese optical fogging here is downright bizarre. The dismembered, uh, members of the male victims turn up at several points, but they optically fog only the tips so they look like Vienna sausages (and wouldn't they deflate after all the blood ran out of them?). More annoying though is the optical fogging of the front of Asami's see-through, chain-mail underwear.

This movie is actually pretty entertaining though aside from the less- than-hot sexual content. It holds together well throughout with martial arts and sword fighting at the end (including a memorable scene of one character having her eyes literally knocked out). There's also a nice mean-spirited twist at the very end involving one the male characters, who is a virgin and has resisted the deadly hookers because he is trying to stay faithful to his fianceé. Don't necessarily expect a hot sex romp, but this is kind of a FUN movie.

Another flick coming out of Japan that isn't going to be a classic. But I must say that I enjoyed it a lot more than other Asami flicks. Still it is sometimes a bit boring but due clocking in at 75 minutes it's over just before you know it.

The script itself is ridiculous and doesn't add anything. It's also clearly to see that it was a low budget. It all takes place in the same building, a massage but one with a special offer. 3 friends are passing by a new erotic massage and wonder how it would be to go in because the price is really cheap. Once they enter the title of this flick is what you get. People who have seen another Asami flick Erotibot were a bit let down on the part of Eroti(c). This time Asami lovers will see her undress all the way. The gore is intact and a bit funny to watch with the typical exaggerated sputter of the red stuff.

It all starts pretty nasty but it falls a bit down once one of the girls is breaking down and tells what is really going on. But luckily it picks up again and it even becomes rather cheesy with a nipple being sliced off and some intestines being ripped out.

Not a masterpiece but a lot of red stuff and some gratuitous nudity from all girls involved. And this time I even smiled...

Right, well for a movie carrying an English title as "Horny House of Horror" and it being labeled as a Japanese horror comedy, I must admit that I was having hopes for this movie to be enjoyable. There are, as you might know, some very off-beat oddball Japanese movies out there, and I had hoped this might be joining that bunch.

Turns out that "Horny House of Horror" (aka "Fasshon heru") wasn't one such movie. Why? Well, it was just too sleazy in my opinion. Now, I am not a prude or anything, but the movie was bordering on being softcore porno. Writer and director Jun Tsugita was spending a bit too much time and focus on showing naked ladies and pseudo-lewd sex scenes. It was just unnecessary to bring the movie to that level; as less is more.

Granted, the movie was starring Asami, so that pretty much lays the foundation of what you are in for.

The storyline was as to be expected from a movie such as this, so at least that counts for something. And there is enough blood in the movie to make it worthwhile watching actually.

"Horny House of Horror" is by no means a jewel in the Japanese cinema. Nor is it a movie that I will be returning to watch a second time around. It was tough enough to sit through it the first time. If there had been less nudity and less focus on showing off sex acts, the movie had been much more enjoyable, as it wouldn't have had that unnecessary sleazy feel to it.

My rating of this movie is a generous three out of ten stars.

I just read a review that stated this was one of the better ones. Don't be too fooled by this. That doesn't mean it's actually good. It's just better than other ones (apparently, I can not actually be 100 % sure if that's true, haven't seen a lot of them to be honest), which seems like a sad fact.

I had hoped for more Gore, the nudity part did not really bother or interest me. Acting wise, it didn't deliver either. The one location thing didn't really elevate the movie either (apart from a couple of scenes that is). If you lower everything, expectations and such, you might be able to have fun with it and enjoy it as a "party" movie with friends

On their way home, three amateur baseball players pass by a new 'massage parlour' offering very reasonable rates. Two of the friends talk the third, who is due to be married, into paying the place a visit. What the trio don't realise is that the girls are under orders to chop off their customers' cocks! A completely insane slice of sexy comedy/horror from Japan, Horny House of Horror is a whole lot of fun if you like your entertainment demented, trashy and very bloody from start to finish.

After the guys are allowed to inspect the girls' butts to ensure quality, customer number one is taken into a room where prostitute Nonoko (Asami) emasculates the poor guy with a mechanical toothed device attached to her pussy. A few gallons of blood are sprayed all over.

Client number two is shackled and forced to watch an erotic dance by hooker Kaori, but is told by the katana wielding manager that he will have his member sliced off should he get an erection. Cue even more gallons of blood.

The final guy, the one who entered the place under duress, gets Nagisa, played by sexy Saori Hara, who doesn't enjoy her work as much as the other two girls, and finally admits to her intended victim that the place is a Sex Parlor from Hell where the customers must die. The pair decide to flee, but with the building loaded with hidden cameras, escape isn't going to be easy.

At only 75 minutes long, Horny House of Horror never outstays its welcome, and packs an awful lot of deranged nonsense into its short running time, including acid sex lube, fart gags, eyeballs splatting against the screen, a graphic disembowelment, a Bond-style villain named Shitaragi (I shitaragi you not!) and a severed schlong in an ash-tray (with the tip optically fogged out, as are any of the AV starlets naughty bits).
