This movie is exactly what it's meant to be, a fun romp in the woods and other locations, silly characters, and fully entertaining. Well done Mr. Hubbard! Your cast appear to be having fun as well. What's not to love? Maybe the first scene is a little rocky, a bit overlit and a bit of room echo, but it smoothed right out very quickly. The pace of the movie is, in my opinion, very good as well. No drawn out boring expositions. Each characters' character is obvious and the dialogue rings true for these quirky semi-losers with good hearts. I'm def going to watch your other movies. I'm a fan! Pls make more.
I had not heard about this 2025 movie titled "The Squatchers", from writer and director Kalani Hubbard, prior to stumbling upon it. And of course with it being a movie that I hadn't already seen, then I opted to check it out. And I will say that the movie's synopsis sounded interesting.
The storyline started out nicely enough but it sort of flattened out and well into a stall about halfway through. I was waiting and waiting for something to start happening, but the wait was mostly in vain, because up to the halfway point, nothing much actually happened. And that caused my interest in the narrative to start waning at some point after halfway through.
I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list, and I will say that the acting performances were fair.
The effects in the movie were okay, but nothing outstanding.
My rating of writer and director Kalani Hubbard's 2025 movie "The Squatchers" lands on a generous four out of ten stars.

I love this comedy adventure! It made me want to go camping with friends in the woods and see if we can find bigfoot, or at least come across some fun wild life. The friendship in this movie is very heart warming and makes me want to hang out with my friends more. I was really surprised by some twists and turns this movie took, don't want to put any spoilers, but let's just say it's not what I expected at the beginning of this movie, and that was a good thing for me!
Pure magic pictures goes back to their roots with a simple, yet fun adventure film about a group of friends searching for the elusive big foot. The seamless chemistry between the actors (along with their infectious charm) really drives the story along that leads to a satisfying story about friendship and all it's glory. There are a few surprises in there especially if you watched all the other pure magic films which I really appreciate. I hope in the future we will see more of this expanded pure magic universe! This film feels fresh, but also brings a nostalgic feeling from all those old adventure films from the 80s and 90s!
I really enjoy watching this movie! The character dynamic between the group of friends is so fun and relatable. I personally hate camping, so I really feel for the character Fay who also hates camping and got dragged along on this. I'd say Lewis really cracked me up, and Nate was down right hilarious. The moment where they all sing the Squatchers song around the campfire was really beautiful and heartwarming to me. I love how much this movie celebrates friendship, the themes about believing, and the sense of magic and wonder all hit home for me. It's just a group of lovable rascals I could see myself being friends with in real life. There were a couple of moments I found myself being nervous about Bigfoot and the ranger too, all in all, this is a great movie and I highly recommend anyone see it.
