Not what I expected at all. Bleccchh!

Jasin is a vampire. For some reason when he turns 100 he and his brood (not coven, only witches form a coven) will all die. Hm? Never heard that one before. Anywhoo, he meets uh..what his name..and falls for him, blah, blah, blah. He's the One and he must Sire him to live. ??? Seeing Jason Lockhard act is punishing. His "ol' so polite way of talking" gets old real fast, and you want him to shut up.

Time code 18:55 -19:05 is all this "film" is worth with a nice shot of Greg McKeon close up; plus Ryan Adames, both are hot to look at. (Too bad Ryan didn't get nudies) That's it. I'm a perv. So what.

With dialog like: Caleb: "So, are you going to turn me, too?" Jasin: "It *has* come to that." this film has no excuse. The idea of a gay vampire flick was honestly arousing. But the all white cast, gawd awful actors was what set this thing in motion as another bad gay film.

Whoever did this just wanted to make good use of all that stock footage (landscapes, cities, houses, scenery, etc.) they bought all in one film. I only liked the frontal shot of Greg that the director "just HAD" to get on camera. Well, that's it. Bye.

Every Bit As Bad As Everybody Says

Jasin (Jason Lockhart) and his vampire brood's time is running out. In order for them to survive, Jasin needs to find a mortal to turn into a vampire to spend eternity with.

There are numerous complaints one could have with this film. If you are homophobic, the overt gayness and exposed members might turn you off. But even if you dig gayness, there is plenty to scare you off -- mostly the absolutely terrible, emotionless acting. But also the complete denial of vampire mythology.

The film does try to explain that vampire legends are myths, but this more or less removes any reason to call them vampires at all. Sure, they feed on blood... but this is all. Sunlight, mirrors, stakes, garlic and crosses are all perfectly fine.

The only part I really liked at all was the flashback of how Jasin was turned into a vampire. But this was maybe one minute long and then it went back to terrible acting. I suppose I could be thankful the film is only 70 minutes long, but it feels like an eternity. Special thanks to Dan McGinnis for finding this gem.

This was just wrong on so many levels...

This movie is labeled as 'horror', well I wonder why! This movie was just awful and a complete waste of time.

Was it a parody on "Twilight"? I hardly think so. I am pretty sure that director Charlie Vaughn meant this as a serious movie. A gay vampire movie. Well, that is a first, I will give him that much.

As for the movie itself? Well, it didn't at all appeal to me in any way. The story was shallow and basically just an excuse to show off guys with no shirts. And the movie didn't follow vampire lore or mythology at all; the vampires were running around in broad daylight and wore crucifixes around their necks. And be warned, there is some full vampire frontal nudity here as well.

I am sure that this movie might appeal to a certain selected target audience, whom enjoy gay romantic vampire movies that was or could be labeled as softcore porn as well. As for me, not so much, and I gave up on the movie without finishing it, as it was not the type of movie that would be important for my life to have watched all the way to the end.

Acting? Well, yeah there were actors and actresses in the movie. Did they perform good? Well, I am sure that they did. Just don't expect groundbreaking or academy-winning performances.

"Vampire Boys", well it did take on the vampire genre with an approach unrivaled and unseen before. At least for that, the movie was outstanding. Entertainment-wise, well I found nothing of the sort here.

I would even go out as far as to say that "Twilight" seems like movie of the century compared to this vampire farce. And equally scary is the fact that a sequel has been spawned to this farce; "Vampire Boys 2: The New Brood". Well, there are movies being catered to every group in the audience, and hurray for that.

Also a hurray for this being a gay movie, and that is not why I didn't enjoy it. I watch movies for the entertainment, not the political correctness of them, and "Vampire Boys" failed on every account to entertain me.

I feel bad for anybody involved with this project!

The sexy boys are the main attraction and I watched it with little expectation. With that said, It felt as if it were a film made by high school students with zero experience in film-making. The lack of budget combined with terrible acting and cheesy dialogue = a great example of how to not make a film. So if you are interested in making one yourself, I highly suggest to watch this to avoid making the same mistakes. I cannot say I was at any point drawn to the characters and the story but I did wonder if it could get any crappier...it always did. But hey! if you want to watch it for the sexy shirtless men making out, I say go ahead and enjoy yourself! Just fast forward to the fun!

I give it a 3/10 due to the attractiveness of the male actors because they were the only enjoyable thing about the film.

    Rather Poor

Making vampire and terror movies became a trend in the gay film industry, but for the most part they are so poor that hardly deserve a review. It's a fact that appreciators of the genre don't expect much: a lot of bare chests, some eye candy, actors that barely deliver their lines, some violence, but not too graphic. Well, this film has it all. The plot is very simple: it's running out time for Jasin (Jason Lockhart) to find a new candidate of vampire to perpetuate the brood. He has as woman willing to get there, but fells attracted to a nice candy boy Caleb (Christian Ferrer) who maybe The One, as long as Jasin convinces him of the marvelous living eternally youth. The actors aren't that bad as the ones chosen for the sequel, but don't expect too much. They poorly deliver their lines, nearly reading them. I found most sympathy for Caleb, the gentle and campy candidate, who touched me in a pleasant way. As for the rest, it's poor bore. They can't convince you for one second of their intentions, fears and desires. But wait! Behold yourselves that the film has a sequel that is even worse than the first film, with a different cast. How could they do it, while just enduring the 70 or so minutes of this trash is so hard. Just for enthusiasts.
