Making vampire and terror movies became a trend in the gay film industry, but for the most part they are so poor that hardly deserve a review. It's a fact that appreciators of the genre don't expect much: a lot of bare chests, some eye candy, actors that barely deliver their lines, some violence, but not too graphic. Well, this film has it all. The plot is very simple: it's running out time for Jasin (Jason Lockhart) to find a new candidate of vampire to perpetuate the brood. He has as woman willing to get there, but fells attracted to a nice candy boy Caleb (Christian Ferrer) who maybe The One, as long as Jasin convinces him of the marvelous living eternally youth. The actors aren't that bad as the ones chosen for the sequel, but don't expect too much. They poorly deliver their lines, nearly reading them. I found most sympathy for Caleb, the gentle and campy candidate, who touched me in a pleasant way. As for the rest, it's poor bore. They can't convince you for one second of their intentions, fears and desires. But wait! Behold yourselves that the film has a sequel that is even worse than the first film, with a different cast. How could they do it, while just enduring the 70 or so minutes of this trash is so hard. Just for enthusiasts.
This movie is labeled as 'horror', well I wonder why! This movie was just awful and a complete waste of time.
Was it a parody on "Twilight"? I hardly think so. I am pretty sure that director Charlie Vaughn meant this as a serious movie. A gay vampire movie. Well, that is a first, I will give him that much.
As for the movie itself? Well, it didn't at all appeal to me in any way. The story was shallow and basically just an excuse to show off guys with no shirts. And the movie didn't follow vampire lore or mythology at all; the vampires were running around in broad daylight and wore crucifixes around their necks. And be warned, there is some full vampire frontal nudity here as well.
I am sure that this movie might appeal to a certain selected target audience, whom enjoy gay romantic vampire movies that was or could be labeled as softcore porn as well. As for me, not so much, and I gave up on the movie without finishing it, as it was not the type of movie that would be important for my life to have watched all the way to the end.
Acting? Well, yeah there were actors and actresses in the movie. Did they perform good? Well, I am sure that they did. Just don't expect groundbreaking or academy-winning performances.
"Vampire Boys", well it did take on the vampire genre with an approach unrivaled and unseen before. At least for that, the movie was outstanding. Entertainment-wise, well I found nothing of the sort here.
I would even go out as far as to say that "Twilight" seems like movie of the century compared to this vampire farce. And equally scary is the fact that a sequel has been spawned to this farce; "Vampire Boys 2: The New Brood". Well, there are movies being catered to every group in the audience, and hurray for that.
Also a hurray for this being a gay movie, and that is not why I didn't enjoy it. I watch movies for the entertainment, not the political correctness of them, and "Vampire Boys" failed on every account to entertain me.

The sexy boys are the main attraction and I watched it with little expectation. With that said, It felt as if it were a film made by high school students with zero experience in film-making. The lack of budget combined with terrible acting and cheesy dialogue = a great example of how to not make a film. So if you are interested in making one yourself, I highly suggest to watch this to avoid making the same mistakes. I cannot say I was at any point drawn to the characters and the story but I did wonder if it could get any crappier...it always did. But hey! if you want to watch it for the sexy shirtless men making out, I say go ahead and enjoy yourself! Just fast forward to the fun!
I give it a 3/10 due to the attractiveness of the male actors because they were the only enjoyable thing about the film.

Synopsis: Vampires made by an Ancient One on their 100th anniversary of becoming a Vampire must do the same else they and their progeny die. Jasin (yes that is how it is spelt) and his "brothers," come to LA to find "The One" for Jasin so they can all live together. Unbeknownst to Caleb, a young, gay, college swimming star from Ohio just moved to LA, he is "The One."
Pluses: Just how bad the dialogue was. It was awesomely bad! The acting was so wrong. Their skills of fake drinking coffee were brilliant! I had no idea it was a gay equivalent to Twilight, I was surprised when the leads were acting, well, gay. The sunshine myth is just that, a myth - turns out Vampire Boys tan quite nicely. Their abs weren't nearly as fake as suggested by the poster. It was just insanely fun.
Minuses: The score/music - it was atrocious! That being said, once you got used to it, it kind of added to the experience. The token female looked like an ex-hooker with bad plastic surgery. What was with the shock shot of extra large genitalia? Jasin's hair.
A few of my friends and I love catching terrible movies - when I saw this was rated at 2.4 on IMDb, I thought I had to see it. After a busy week and tiring Saturday, I skipped a BBQ and livetweeted the movie - you can see that here though don't forget to keep clicking more till there aren't any more - then read from the bottom up. It wasn't the worst movie I have seen, but its approach was super fun, and I had an absolute blast watching it. As someone who doesn't much care for the Twilight franchise, this was just brilliant. That I had no idea what I was getting myself in for, made it even more fun.

Before watching this movie, I read all the reviews on this site, and I had very low expectations for this film when I watched it. If you're looking for a horror movie, I don't even understand why you're still looking at this page. This film is sort of a *GAY* parody of Twilight( minus the sparkles); Jasin is like Edward and Caleb is the Bella. The movie sometimes had slow or dull dialogue; sometimes it was good like that, sometimes not so much. In a nutshell, it wasn't a horrible movie, quite entertaining actually, if you're game for what this movie has.
This movie is not for a true vampire fanatic. This is movie is better for ones who don't mind bending the rules a little.
