a Turkish soap opera. it is the first verdict about this series. not wrong but far to be correct. because it has the virtue to use a theme not new , real familiar, but splendid used in this series - the family. in its simple sense, dramas, expectations, bad ideas and uninspired gestures. a father. his daughters. and a form of war who has only victims. so, a different film about basic virtues and forms of adaptations to reality.
Probably one of the best series I have seen. The way all of the actors pull off their roles is brilliant. Their acting is very convincing and didn't make me want to change the program at any moment. At first, it could seem non-original but it is actually a deep and meaningful story that came out that way because it is very well written (and because of the acting, of course). Since I generally come across series that impress me very rarely, because most of them are either crime series or science fiction nowadays (and that is getting old), I really liked this one. It's because it manages to achieve that the simple story about an ordinary family with typical problems doesn't look anything ordinary. Matter-of- fact, I was really touched by some love stories that were as realistic as they weren't acted out (for example, Aylin and Soner or Inci and Mete). The music is very good and perfectly follows up, making some scenes truly look like a work of art. I would definitely recommend it.
This serial is a new breath for Turkish television...
On the first glance there might be some apparent cliché episodes but the story goes deeper and deeper... It may not have the best TV serial scenario but the perfect cast what makes you stick to the screen on behalf outstanding and realistic performances.
I'd like to mention especially about Mete (Aras Bulut İynemli). I bet he'll be a very famous and successful actor in the future. The way he acts makes me have shivers... Everybody performs very very well and it's more than I expected... But I would not pass without mentioning little Osman (Emir Berke Zincidi)... He is only 6 years old... Actually whole story is told through his eyes in 1960's Istanbul... So smart and very very very lovely...
The background music picked up very successfully...
Overall this TV serial deserves watching... And it seems that new stars are about to be born...
Congratulations to producers, director and most of all the cast...

I learnt a lot from this show, about people's relations, reactions, love and hatred, also about man's shallow inside. Everyday and non-everyday stories that are still in present days which we can relate to. Actors did their job with their best and made me feel every emotion. I'm amazed even though it is very hard for watching. Bravo!
a good example of Turkish new wave cinema. because it uses the rules of soap opera in wise manner, reflecting the nuances of period, the social problems, using interesting characters, exploring the atmosphere nuances and the drama possibilities. a film about a family. cold, bitter, far to be comfortable. and the ray of inspired script, the music, the landscapes and the links between characters are pillars of an interesting story about emotions, tragedies, hopes and fight against great problems. each actor does a real good job. sure, the sentimental slices are present. the pink crumbs of each soap opera are not little .but , in fact, the message, the acting, the story are not only good intentions expressions. and that fact is the most important aspect.
