The School in the Woods

We made this movie on a very, very limited budget. It was a first for us. It was a lot of fun to make and a lot of fun to watch. Just watch and enjoy enjoy yourself rather than being a movie critic. Laugh at the mistakes if you want to; we did. But don't be mean. Give it a chance. I've watched it many times. Every time I notice something new.

This movie is awful. The acting is awful. The "scares" are cheap and predictable. I could have put together a better cast with my niece's high school drama club. I will watch any movie that claims to be scary but this one is one of the worst I have seen. Not worth the effort to pay attention to - the characters are one-dimensional, the "scares" are cliched at best, and the acting is elementary, which is a compliment. No one in this movie should ever been given another part again! I wish i could give it zero or even negative stars to keep people from wasting their time!

If you enjoy found footage films you'll probably give this a 6, 7, or 8, its not the best but its decent enough, the scene in the bathroom with the two girls and hands is EXCELLENT, one of the scariest scenes in a movie I've ever seen and I have seen LOTS of horror films and found footage films as well, yes it could've had a bit more action/scares, and it could've moved a bit faster towards the middle but as they themselves stated it was their first film and to me it was decent.

I think you guys bullied them off the internet because I kept trying to find this movie for a couple years (I had already seen it previously twice) and it was hard to do so, I finally got a friend in the US to send me a copy and I enjoyed it as much as the first time I saw it.

Group of teens go to a haunted abandoned school in the woods to make a paranormal documentary, horror ensues.

This simple setup had me interested but sadly after 20 minutes of black and white non-found footage I was worried. Then we get about 10 minutes of dual screen found footage and the rest is more poorly shot long single-take b&w footage of people arguing.

Despite having a large and interesting abandoned school most of our time is spent in a office kitchen (not shot at the school). This movie should have stayed in detention.

I really enjoyed the long uncut shot approach to the film. It helped tell the story in the beginning. It does start to drag half way through the movie until the paranormal stuff begins. There was some story telling with side characters that drug it down. But the acting for an indie film was pretty solid. Totally worth a watch through with a group of your friends.
