Stephen Lang, who played Norman Nordstrom, aka the Blind Man, in Don't Breathe and its sequel, offers a hopeful update on the movie series' future. While rumors have circulated about a third movie, Don't Breathe 3 remains unconfirmed. After starring in the 2021 horror action, Lang can be seen in the new thriller, Barron's Cove, alongside Tramell Tillman, Garrett Hedlund, Brittany Snow, and more. He's also expected to reprise his role as the main antagonist, Colonel Miles Quaritch,in the upcoming Avatar: Fire and Ash.

In an interview with ScreenRant's Grant Hermanns on Barron's Cove, coming to select theaters and VOD on June 6, Lang offered an update on a potential third movie. The actor revealed that "there's a concept," and though there has been some "backward progress" in the development, there has been "some minimal progress" in the last few months. He further clarified that they wanted the third movie to...

Avatar: Fire And Ash Stars Reveal New Details About Where We Find Lo'ak, Tuk, And Spider In Threequel
Image
In Avatar: The Way of Water, we met Jake Sully and Neytiri's children for the first time. However, tragedy struck when their oldest child, Neteyam, was killed while battling the Rda.

That will put the franchise's leads on a revenge mission, and filmmaker James Cameron has previously suggested their quest is what eventually brings Neytiri to Earth (a plot development we expect to see play out in the planned fourth instalment). What of the remaining kids, though?

Britain Dalton, who plays Lo'ak, recently spoke to Empire (via SFFGazette.com) and revealed where we find his middle sibling when Avatar: Fire and Ash begins. "[Lo'ak] was born to be a leader. But he’s never been given the trust," he teased. "When Neteyam dies...that’s no way that he ever imagined being finally able to be seen. He blames himself."

Tuk actor Trinity Bliss added, "I don’t think she’ll ever be the same.

James Cameron adapting Joe Abercrombie's The Devils heralds a shift in fantasy movies
Image
This week, we learned that James Cameron, the blockbuster filmmaker behind such hits as Titanic, The Terminator, Aliens, and the Avatar movies, has purchased the rights to make a movie based on Joe Abercrombie's latest grimdark fantasy novel, The Devils. Abercrombie and Cameron will co-write the script for the film together, under Cameron's Lighstorm banner.

"I've loved Joe's writing for years, cherishing each new read, throughout the epic cycle of the First Law books, especially Best Served Cold (Love It!) and the Age of Madness trilogy," Cameron said in a statement. "But the freshness of the world and the characters in The Devils finally got me off my butt to buy one of his books and partner with him to bring it to the screen. I'm looking forward to the writing process with him, though I'm certain this adaptation will practically write itself because Joe writes very visually, almost in scenes,...

Avatar 3 Plot Details Reveal How The Sully Family Has Changed After Way Of Water's Major Death
Image
Avatar: Fire and Ash plot details reveal how the Sully family has changed following The Way of Water's major death. A sequel to 2009's Avatar, 2022's The Way of Water jumps ahead 16 years and introduces Jake and Neytiri's Na'vi family, including the oldest sibling Neteyam, his reckless younger brother Lo'ak (Britain Dalton), their younger sister Tuk (Trinity Bliss), and the adopted Spider (Jack Champion). During Avatar: The Way of Water's ending, Neteyam is tragically killed during a raid on the Rda, a death that is expected to have significant consequences in the upcoming Avatar: Fire and Ash.

Talking to Empire, the Avatar cast discussed how Neteyam's death will affect their characters in the upcoming Fire and Ash. Dalton says that his death forces Lo'ak into a leadership role he never expected and leaves him feeling undeserving and guilt-ridden, as he believes he is only finally seen because of his...

Avatar: Fire And Ash: How The Sully Children Will React To Their Brother’s Death
Image
When James Cameron brought audiences back to Pandora in Avatar: The Way Of Water, he upped the stakes considerably – giving Jake Sully and Neytiri a whole gaggle of Na’vi children, who had arrived in the time-jump from the first film. There was eldest sibling Neteyam, his impetuous younger brother Lo’ak, little sister Tuktirey, as well as adoptive sibling Kiri and human stray Spider. And Cameron didn’t hold back – in Way Of Water’s final act, Neteyam was tragically killed in a raid on the Rda, proving nobody is safe in the ongoing Avatar saga.

It’s a loss that will have serious ramifications in this year’s Avatar: Fire And Ash – with the rest of the Sully kids, as well as their parents, dealing with the fallout. In Empire’s latest Path To Pandora dispatch – bringing you monthly updates on Fire And Ash as the December release...

The official X/Twitter account for the upcoming musical fantasy sequel posted a short teaser announcing that there is only "one short day" to wait for an extended preview of the film. James Cameron will adapt Joe Abercrombie's fantasy novel The Devils!
Image
2025 has been a big year so far for British fantasy author Joe Abercrombie. The writer has worked on a range of projects, from penning screenplays for the new season of Netflix anthology series Love, Death and Robots, to releasing his latest fantasy novel, The Devils.

Abercrombie is currently best known for his Game of Thrones-esque fantasy series The First Law, which made him one of the most popular voices in the genre. One of his First Law novels, Best Served Cold, is already being made into a movie starring Rebecca Ferguson (Dune). And now, just a few weeks after it was published, his latest novel The Devils has caught the eye legendary director James Cameron, who plans to co-write a movie script alongside Abercrombie.

The project was announced on Cameron's official Facebook page. "How do I describeThe Devils? A sharply witty horror adventure? An epic battle between good and...

James Cameron To Follow Avatar Fire & Ash By Writing Adaptation Of Joe Abercrombie’s The Devils
Image
We may still be six months out from the release of James Cameron’s epic sci-fi threequel Avatar: Fire And Ash, but that isn’t stopping the iconic filmmaker from lining up more sure-to-be-box-office-smashing ducks on the horizon. Yesterday, the Terminator creator confirmed via his official social media accounts that after his latest check-in with the Na’vi, his production company Lightstorm will be shifting focus to work on an adaptation of Joe Abercrombie’s dark fantasy tome The Devils. And, what’s more, Cameron himself will co-write the movie with the book's author.

Released just last month, The Devils — a sort-of fantastical riff on The Dirty Dozen that sees literal demons band together to avert an impending apocalypse — is the latest book from Abercrombie, whose past bestselling works include the First Law cycle. Cameron is, as his announcement of The Devils’ acquisition attests, a massive fan. "How do I describe The Devils?...

James Cameron Dives into Dark Fantasy with ‘The Devils’ After ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’
Image
James Cameron is stepping away from the vibrant world of Pandora for his next big project. The acclaimed director, known for blockbusters like ‘Titanic’ and ‘The Terminator’, is set to tackle a chilling new venture. He’s adapting ‘The Devils’, a novel by Joe Abercrombie, into a film that promises a grim and thrilling ride. This move comes right after he wraps up ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’, the third chapter in his sci-fi saga.

‘The Devils’ is a dark fantasy tale set in an alternate medieval Europe. It follows a ragtag group of monsters, criminals, and outcasts tasked with saving the continent from flesh-eating elves. Think of it as a gritty, gothic version of ‘Suicide Squad’, blending horror with sharp wit. The story centers on Brother Diaz, a priest expecting a holy mission, only to find himself leading a crew of murderers and magical misfits. Their quest demands brutal choices,...

James Cameron has officially announced his next film project: an adaptation of Joe Abercrombie’s dark fantasy novel The Devils. This marks a departure from his Avatar universe, as he plans to co-write the screenplay with Abercrombie himself.

Cameron is currently working on Avatar: Fire and Ash, which is scheduled for release on December 19, 2025. Cameron, a master at bringing forward-thinking ideas to the big screen, used cutting-edge technology and special effects to create an alien universe while also including a message that resonated with a worldwide audience.

However, after the Avatar movies, he is ready to move on from the world of the blue aliens and focus on The Devils. While it’s confirmed that he will co-write the screenplay, it’s not yet clear whether he will also direct the film.

The Devils | James Cameron to co-write new fantasy film
Image
Following a rather long stint on his Avatar films, James Cameron will be picking up the reins on Joe Abercrombie’s fantasy novel, The Devils.

Although it may seem like James Cameron has been working on his Avatar films and only his Avatar films for many years now, we have seen inklings here or there that the veteran filmmaker may yet be coaxed from the world of Pandora and back into other realms, imaginary or otherwise.

In autumn of last year he announced that he’d secured the rights to Charles Pellegrino’s 2015 book Last Train From Hiroshima, adding that he’d also snapped up the rights to the author’s forthcoming follow-up, Ghosts Of Hiroshima and planned to adapt the novels into an ‘“uncompromising theatrical film.”

Pellegrino’s book covers the devastating effects of the atomic bomb, from its detonation on the 6th August 1945 to the suffering left behind in its wake.

James Cameron's New Horror Movie Announcement Has Us Asking One Question
Image
If there's one lesson we've learned over the course of the last 40-odd years of cinema, it's to never bet against James Cameron. There were bets against him when the maverick filmmaker took on the "Titanic," and again when he insisted on building the imaginative and lush alien world of "Avatar" a decade later. In both instances, Cameron's ventures not only succeeded, but made him a king of Hollywood cinema.

"Avatar" is currently two movies deep into a planned five-movie saga, but now it looks like Cameron will be taking a detour after "Avatar: Fire and Ash." As the filmmaker himself announced in a press release via his Facebook page today, Cameron's company, Lightstorm Entertainment, has acquired the rights to author Joe Abercrombie's latest novel, "The Devils." That novel was literally just published on May 13, but it's already built up quite a bit of buzz, even leaving Cameron's interest aside.

James Cameron Was Blown Away by ‘The Mandalorian’ Star Who Rarely Gets Any Credit Because of Pedro Pascal
Image
When it first came out back in 2019, The Mandalorian proved to be among the finer additions to the Star Wars lore, perfectly brought to the screens by Jon Favreau. Led by Pedro Pascal as the titular character, it has earned remarkable praise from fans and critics worldwide. In fact, even James Cameron couldn’t help but praise it.

Yet, while Cameron became one of the people shell-shocked by the cast’s performance, he was actually the most blown away by the one star who rarely gets any credit because Pascal seems to take home all the acclaim, being the face of the main character. This one star was none other than the one in Din Djarin’s suit, Brendan Wayne.

"Your Work Is Seamless": James Cameron and Sigourney Weaver Praise Brendan Wayne’s Performance as Din Djarin in ‘The Mandalorian’
Image
The Mandalorian Season 3 aired its explosive finale more than two years ago, and one of the show’s most underappreciated stars is finally earning some major praise. While Pedro Pascal is widely known among the Star Wars fan base as The Mandalorian, mostly for his voice and for being the one under the mask when Din Djarin removes his helmet, bringing Din to life is a team effort. One of the people tasked with doing so is Brendan Wayne, who is usually the one in the suit even when Pascal is voicing the character.

Even though his voice or face doesn’t come through Din, Wayne brings the Mandalorian bounty hunter to life with his body language and movement, which is arguably just as important, if not more so, than the voice. Wayne has been confirmed to also play Din Djarin in the upcoming Star Wars film, The Mandalorian & Grogu,...

The Aliens Scene That Left Sigourney Weaver 'Covered In Blood'
Image
Sigourney Weaver stopped by John Mulaney's late night show "Everybody's Live!" on Wednesday, May 21, and she shared a surprising story from her time on the set of "Aliens." The 1986 sci-fi-action-horror sequel was, of course, the film that cemented Weaver's "Alien" character, Ellen Ripley, as one of the best final girls in the whole horror genre. It was also the movie that showed Weaver just how bizarre director James Cameron could be sometimes.

"If Jim Cameron were to tell me to do something, I would just do it because there's a limit to his sense of humor," Weaver explained. "If he says, 'I want you to do this,' and you go, 'Well, that doesn't look safe. Would I... Are you sure?' I've done that, and it hasn't worked out."

This was an ominous way to start her story, although she told the rest of it in a humorous tone:

James Cameron's Avatar Fans Get Exciting News Ahead of Fire and Ash Coming to Theaters This Year
Image
With Avatar: Fire and Ash coming to cinemas this holiday season, the most recent Avatar installment is on track for a re-release to ramp up anticipation for the threequel. James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water lands a second theatrical run nearly three years after its debut, with fans getting to see the movie in its best format.

Per Collider, The Way of Water returns to theaters on October 3 for a "one-week limited engagement," with the film being shown in IMAX. The sci-fi thriller notched the IMAX screens for that time slot after Lionsgate confirmed the release of its Michael Jackson biopic, Michael, would be delayed until 2026 after initially rumored for an October debut.

Avatar: The Way of Water returns to IMAX theaters this October ahead of the anticipated arrival of Avatar: Fire and Ash
James Cameron
Before the third chapter in James Cameron’s epic science-fiction franchise, Avatar: Fire and Ash, sets the box office aflame in December, the second installment of the series, Avatar: The Way of Water, is returning to IMAX theaters on October 3. If you missed The Way of Water in theaters (like I did), this could be your chance to course-correct a grievous cinematic sin.

The re-release of Avatar: The Way of Water arrives courtesy of Lionsgate/Universal’s move of the Michael Jackson biopic to 2026, freeing up space for something like Avatar to rake in more dollars at the box office. Other films affected by release date shifts this week include Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, with Doomsday now arriving on December 18, 2026, and Secret Wars superhero landing in cinemas on December 17, 2027.

Fortunately, this isn't that bad of a delay; at least Doomsday and Secret Wars are still planned for the same year they were originally going to come out, just seven months later.

This change to Marvel's release schedule comes only a couple of months after they announced the core cast for the fifth Avengers movie, Avengers: Doomsday. That one...

‘Lilo & Stitch’ instant Oscar predictions: Where Disney’s live-action remake might be competitive
Image
Lilo and Stitch are riding a Hawaiian roller-coaster back into theaters this weekend, but unlike that mischievous blue alien, the live-action remake looks poised to clean up. Tracking for the film's four-day opening over the Memorial Day weekend puts its predicted haul at a record $165 million, which would certainly be a bounce back for Disney after the debacle of Snow White.

The original Lilo & Stitch snagged a Best Animated Feature nomination back in 2003, but does this live-action ohana have what it takes to make it back to Oscar night? Here are the categories in which the new Lilo & Stitch could be competitive come awards season.

Best Original Song

In addition to a slew of songs from the King himself, Elvis Presley, the original movie featured a couple of new songs by Mark Keali'i Ho'omalu and composer Alan Silvestri, including the already-name-checked "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride." The remake includes a...

‘Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning’ instant Oscar predictions
Image
In the teaser for Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning, Henry Czerny's CIA Director Eugene Kittridge lays out the stakes of the action series' ultimate entry.

"Everything you were, everything you've done, has come to this."

Could he be talking about the achievement that has eluded Tom Cruise and company across the franchise's eight entries — Oscar glory?

Reviews for Final Reckoning came in somewhat shy of the high highs that the series has seen in its later outings, under the stewardship of director Christopher McQuarrie (an Oscar winner for his Usual Suspects screenplay). But there's no denying the goodwill that the films have engendered among movie fans, who have come to identify the franchise as one of the last bastions of old-fashioned Hollywood blockbuster-making.

With Final Reckoning opening in theaters this weekend, let's take a look at Mission's awards history and which categories it could potentially repel onto the...

Image
Disney has pushed the releases of the fifth and sixth entries in Marvel Studios’ Avengers series from May to December next year and in 2027.

Avengers: Doomsday moves from May 1 next year to December 18, 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars from May 7, 2027 to December 18 of that year.

Joe and Anthony Russo are directing both films, having previously steered Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, which between them grossed nearly $5bn.

The Russo brothers announced their involvement in the sequels at last year’s Comic-Con, where it was also revealed that Robert Downey Jr would play villain Dr Doom.

‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ Gets Theatrical Re-Release Ahead of ‘Fire and Ash’ Threequel
Image
One of the biggest blockbusters in recent years is coming back to theaters. Disney has announced that Avatar: The Way of Waterwill return to the big screen on October 3, to prepare audiences for the premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ashlater this year. The announcement comes as the studio continues to shuffle its release schedule. The upcoming Avengers movies were moved around, leaving Marvel Cinematic Universe fans wondering how the new dates will affect the rest of the franchise. Fortunately for fans of the Na'vi, no upcoming Avatar movies have changed release dates.

Avatar: The Way of Water helped James Cameron's latest passion project go from one very successful blockbuster to a massive, epic franchise. Several sequels to the original Avatar film had always been planned, but it took The Way of Water more than a decade to become a reality. The sequel saw the return of Sam Worthingtonas Jake Sully.

Disney Pushes ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ to December 2026 — and Replaces It with ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’
Image
Marvel fans will have to wait a bit longer to see the Avengers re-assemble.

Disney has pushed “Avengers: Doomsday” to December 18, 2026 from its original release date of May 1, 2026. That slot will now be filled by “The Devil Wears Prada 2.” “Avengers: Secret Wars” also received a similar shift, moving from May 7, 2027 to December 17, 2027.

Other calendar moves include scheduling an IMAX 3D re-release of “Avatar: The Way of Water” for October 3, 2025, two months before “Avatar: Fire & Ash” hits theaters. Ridley Scott’s post-apocalyptic epic “The Dog Stars” also received a release date of March 27, 2026.

Few movies on Disney’s upcoming slate are more anticipated than “Avengers: Doomsday,” which sees Joe and Anthony Russo stepping back into the director’s chair(s) and Robert Downey Jr. returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as beloved villain Dr. Doom. The film was retooled from the ashes of the planned “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,...

‘The Devil Wears Prada’ Sequel Set for May 2026; Ridley Scott’s ‘The Dog Stars’ Dated for March
Image
Turns out the devil (still) wears Prada!

News broke last July that a sequel to the 2006 comedy “The Devil Wears Prada” was officially in the works at Disney. The studio has now officially set a May 1, 2026 theatrical release date for the follow-up.

Though it was reported last year that Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt would be returning, no cast members have been officially confirmed. Stanley Tucci, who starred in the original “Devil Wears Prada,” recently told Variety, “I know they’re working on it. If it happens, I would be so happy, but I cannot give you any information. Otherwise, I’ll go to the actor’s prison or something. [The original] was one of the best experiences ever.

“The Devil Wears Prada” was based on Lauren Weisberger’s dishy 2003 novel about a young woman’s nightmarish experience working at a fashion magazine (Weisberger worked as a personal assistant for American Vogue...

Disney Pushes Next Two ‘Avengers’ Movies; Dates ‘The Dog Stars’ & ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’
Image
Marvel Studios is pushing back the release of its next two Avengers films, directed by the Russo Brothers. Avengers: Doomsday has moved from May 1 to December 18, 2026. Meanwhile, Avengers: Secret Wars is moving from May 7 to December 17, 2027.

Insiders noted that these two films are among the biggest ever made, and the delays simply allow more time to execute on a gargantuan vision. Disney/Marvel elected for December dates, given the success they’ve had in the holiday corridor with titles like Spider-Man: No Way Home. Avengers: Doomsday is in production now.

Today, Disney also shared updates on a pair of high-profile titles from 20th Century Studios: Ridley Scott’s post-apocalyptic thriller The Dog Stars, starring Jacob Elordi, and The Devil Wears Prada 2. The Dog Stars will be released on March 27, 2026, with The Devil Wears Prada 2 coming out on May 1, 2026. Then, there’s an IMAX/3D re-release of James Cameron...

Avatar 3 Will Abandon the First Two Movies' Color Scheme (Confirmed)
Image
Director James Cameron is officially trading out Pandora's familiar color scheme for Avatar: Fire and Ash. Avatar found fame as a historically gorgeous blockbuster in 2009 with CGI creations that still hold up against modern movies. The beauty of Pandora was portrayed through a lush landscape with vibrant greenery and clear blue waters that match its iconic Na'vi inhabitants.

But Pandora is getting some flaming hot changes in Avatar 3 as Cameron introduces the Fire Na'vi, with its leader, Varang, played by Oona Chaplin, set to be the threequel's main villain. Her tribe, the Ash People, will face stiff opposition in Fire and Ash from Sam Worthington's Jake Sully, Zoe Saldaña's Neytiri, Sigourney Weaver's Kiri, Stephen Lang's Quaritch, and Kate Winslet's Ronal.

IMAX CEO Rich Gelfond spoke with The Ankler at the Cannes Film Festival and, while talking up the rest of its 2025 slate after a record-breaking...

The movie's presentation at CinemaCon included a privately shown trailer for attendees, who had big reactions to the new Avatar 3 footage. “Quantity does not necessarily beget quality”: Thunderbolts* Finally Makes Disney Realize Their Dumbest Move That Sank MCU in the First Place
Image
Thunderbolts* isn’t the kind of Marvel movie anyone expected to lead a comeback. It doesn’t hold the star power of Iron Man or Thor, but its character-driven story has done something far more important. Over the years, MCU seemed to lose its spark after Avengers: Endgame. Too many shows, too many spin-offs, and too little impact left even die-hard viewers exhausted.

But the surprising movie has become the unexpected charm, one that can restore faith in the franchise. With strong reviews, solid box office numbers, and an unexpected narrative twist, Thunderbolts* has forced the studio to confront the hard truth that sank the MCU. Even Disney’s CEO now acknowledges that mistake.

Disney CEO hails Thunderbolts* as turning point in Marvel’s comeback strategy A still from Thunderbolts* | Credit: Marvel Studios

After years of box-office failures and mounting criticism, Disney CEO Bob Iger has officially acknowledged what many Marvel fans have long suspected.

Disney CEO Bob Iger Says Thunderbolts* Is The "First And Best Example" Of Marvel Studios' New Movie Strategy
Image
When Bob Chapek took over as Disney CEO, he immediately prioritised adding as much content to Disney+ as possible. On an almost weekly basis, new films and TV shows debuted on the platform, adding to an already huge amount of classic content from the studio's library.

It was good value for subscribers, but spending money to make money didn't exactly pay off for the House of Mouse. Chapek was subsequently pushed out of the company, and Bob Iger made his surprise return as CEO.

He immediately set about righting the ship, taking Walt Disney Studios, Disney Animation, Pixar, Lucasfilm, and Marvel Studios to task. In the latter's case, Kevin Feige was happy to get back to quality over quantity, and we've seen the positive results from that with Daredevil: Born Again and Thunderbolts*.

During a conference call with Wall Street analysts today (discussing Disney's better-than-expected results in the fiscal second...

Bob Iger Says ‘Thunderbolts*’ Is ‘First and Best’ Example of Marvel’s New Movie Strategy: ‘We Lost a Little Focus by Making Too Much’
Image
Disney’s CEO Bob Iger has admitted the company’s film slate has struggled in post-pandemic times by focusing too much on quantity and not enough on quality.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe, in particular, hasn’t restored its luster since the epic culmination of 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame.” There have been hits since Covid, like “Deadpool & Wolverine,” “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” But success has been wildly inconsistent as tentpoles like “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” “The Marvels” and “Captain America: Brave New World” were among Disney’s first comic book franchise installments to lose money since the MCU brought superhero movies in vogue.

However, Iger views “Thunderbolts”,” which debuted last weekend to $76 million, as the “first and best example” of the studio’s new priority to make better movies… even if that means there are fewer of them.

“We all know that...

Check what an award-winning sci-fi director once said about Avatar ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

James Cameron’s visually stunning epic sci-fi blockbuster ‘Avatar’ received tremendous praise from fans and critics across the globe after its theatrical release in 2009. Avatar and its sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, are among the top five highest-grossing movies of all time globally.

Eminent filmmakers like Steven Spielberg and Edgar Wright have expressed their admiration for the film in the past.

This Award-Winning Director Wasn’t Very Happy With Avatar

However, some viewers opined that Avatar was not the best film directed by James Cameron. For instance, the immensely talented British filmmaker Duncan Jones once said (as reported by SlashFilm) that Avatar wasn’t in his top three James Cameron films.

“Everyone Loses”: Trump’s Movie Tariffs Plan Catches Hollywood Off Guard
Image
Hollywood should have seen this coming. After starting trade wars over cars and steel, solar panels and washing machines, Donald Trump has added movies to the list.

Potus’ announcement on Truth Social on May 5 that he plans to slap a 100 percent tariff on films “coming into our country produced in foreign lands” has sent shockwaves through the global entertainment industry.

The plan — if a 113-word post, much of it written in screaming all-caps and also walked back by a White House spokesperson, can be considered a plan — appears to be to try and force the studios to shoot more movies in America by imposing a levy on tentpoles that shoot abroad, in countries like Canada, the U.K., Spain and Australia, and take advantage of local tax incentives there.

Even if such a tariff were legal — and there is some debate about whether Trump has the authority to impose such...

'Avatar's James Cameron Moves Forward With Long-Awaited 'Ghosts of Hiroshima' Project
Image
James Cameron has spent a little over 17 years of his career working on his series of Avatar films. The ambitious productions have always been on the cutting edge of visual effects, with new filmmaking techniques and technological innovations being made to help bring Cameron's vision to life. Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third film in the series, is set to be released at the end of this year, with several more sequels on the way. Interestingly, it seems that Cameron's next project, following his immense dedication to the Avatar films, is an equally ambitious historical project based on the real-life horrific experiences of one individual.

In a new report from Deadline, it has been revealed that James Cameron has recruited actor Martin Sheen to provide narration for the audiobook version of "Ghosts of Hiroshima," which the Avatar director will adapt for the big screen. Written by Charles Pellegrino, the book...

Trump Says He’s Instituting a “100 Percent Tariff” on Films Produced Outside of the U.S. Because the “Movie Industry in America Is Dying”
Image
In a move that could shake up the entertainment industry, President Trump says he’s directed his administration to put a “100 percent tariff” on any movies coming into the U.S. that were not produced in this country.

He posted on his Truth Social platform Sunday that he’s authorized the Department of Commerce and the United States Trade Representative to institute the tariff.

“The Movie Industry in America is Dying a very fast death,” he wrote. “Other Countries are offering all sorts of incentives to draw our filmmakers and studios away from the United States. Hollywood, and many other areas within the U.S.A., are being devastated. This is a concerted effort by other Nations and, therefore, a National Security threat. It is, in addition to everything else, messaging and propaganda!

“Therefore, I am authorizing the Department of Commerce, and the United States Trade Representative, to immediately begin...
