    A Mahesh and Vytla Treat

We guessed it right. Dookudu is really a big leap in Mahesh brand entertainment. There is, delightfully, a bonus. The film is a big leap in Vytla brand entertainment as well. To put it in a nutshell, this awesome film has got everything which you might have expected to see in Khaleja (2010) but did not find in it. Dookudu has got everything - comedy, action, romance. On the top of it, there is an intelligent screenplay that coalesces adrenaline punches with comic drama and sentiment. And when the sentiment involves a superstar like Mahesh Babu and an ace like Prakash Raj, who strike a perfect chemistry on screen, you cannot ask for more. It would be far-fetched to even suggest that Dookudu is a classic, as the hero had wanted it to be, but it is indubitably a must-watch film.

Thankfully, the drama and action are not routine. They are laced with rib-tickling comedy and touching sentimentality. Vaitla blends all the commercial ingredients in his inimitable style and makes Dookudu an enjoyable fare for all and how?

Well, here it is how he does it. Much like Dhee, Ready and King, this film too sees the the hero making everyone live in a fool's paradise: things go as the hero wants them. Nayak marvels at old Telugu classics and Ghantasala's rendition of the Gita; Brahmanandam, who believes that he is part of a reality show (this one, believe us, is top class), has you in splits as he is fooled around without a respite; MS Narayana's spoofing of Magadheera and Simha is superb; Prime Minister NTR, speaking on the ramparts of Red Fort in chaste Telugu, promises to bring black money back; Master Bharath participates in multi-crore land dealings and brings smiles. Even a get-to-gether of Mahesh, Samantha's families becomes an occasion for comedy of lies and bakras. Episodic treatment keeps your interest alive. Every murder comes with a touch of humour. Welcome to the world of Srinu Vaitla.

As for the performances, Mahesh delivers one of his career bests. He can now safely claim, without inviting ridicule, that Dookudu is a slap on the face of those who declared that he is not good at comedy. He shows verve and energy in action scenes. He is convincing in the khaddar get-up. He is remarkable at spouting one-liners as the super-efficient cop. He is trigger-happy, but is immediately funny in taking digs at his stupid senior Nasser.

All comedians and character artists do justice to their roles. On the flip side, however, Samantha is not seen much in the second half. But when she sizzles on the screen in Itu Raye number, you swoon.

Tehnicially, it is proof what a Digital Intermediate finish can make a film look like. It is visually rich.

Post Script: Babu land aithe opposition ku bande, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam says to a frightened Sonu Sood. Prince proves he is Numero Uno. The fight for top slot is over. Cool.

    Rib tickling comedy

watch this movie if u: 1.watch movies for entertainment rather than searching logic.. 2.like srinu vytla's brand of comedy.. 3.want to be left in splits by brahmi n MS 4.like mahesh's new diction 5.loiked the audio as songs are visually good but for choreography..

on the whole, this movie is gr8 to watch for some rib tickling comedy and light hearted romance in the first half.. story is clichéd and predictable but i guarantee u that u ll enjoy the film.. it would have been better if the film was a little shorter,, samantha should have been given a longer screen time... prakash raj was okay.. suman's character is a waste of time.. nevertheless,go watch it folks

Dookudu an above average comedy entertainer.

This is movie is entirely based on comedy n actor Mahesh's performance.

Story: Not an unpredictable one, not delicious as director Sreenu- Vaytla's creation but dialogues n comedy timing are good.

    Pros: Mahesh,Prakash raj,Brahmanandam,M.S.Narayana,Sonusood & Nazer performances. Dir,screenplay Sreenu Vytla,Guhan cinematography,Taman background score n finally female lead Samantha.

Cons: Second half of the movie works slowly as compared to that of first half. Samantha not used properly when they returned from Istanbul in the movie. Mahesh character it becomes he's the only person in the entire movie. Villain characterization not impressive.

Verdict: An entertainment based film hope you'll enjoy.

Super star at his best ....

You can not ask for more than what this movie offers especially in its kind. Kudos to Mahesh, what an actor TFI has got, in fact Indian cinema. He excelled in every form of acting, comedy, action, sentiment. Great job by the director and thanks to him for giving such a wholesome entertainer to the cinema lovers. He has come up with a decent story and worked really good on the screen play to make sure That audience would not get bored even for few minutes. All the artists justified their characters. No need to mention about BRAMHI and MS They just ROCK. Thaman, the music director, gave decent tunes and terrific Back ground music. Go and watch you will enjoy the movie.

    Full Entertainer

Mahesh Babu role and his action is highlight in the film. He excelled both in action and emotional scenes. His comedy timing is perfect and over shadowed big comedians in the movie. The variation he showed in body language between Police officer and MLA is commendable. Overall, it is an energetic performance by Mahesh Babu much to the delight of his fans.

Samanta has nothing to do much except play the role of Mahesh Babu love interest. She is pretty and looked glamorous in songs. Parvathi Melton item song is unimpressive.

Prakash Raj is at his usual best. This role is one among many roles he played. Sonu Sood as underworld don did justice to his selection. Kota, Sayaji Shindey and Supreeth performance is OK.

Real scene stealers are Brahmanandam in Padma Sri role and MS Narayana in wanna be hero Venu role. Their performance is highlight in the movie.

Nasser as boss to Mahesh Babu has less important role. Suman and Naga Babu restricted to couple of scenes in Police chiefs role. Vennela Kishore, Ravi Prakash and Manoj performed well as Mahesh colleagues. Tanikella Bharani, Chandra Mohan, Shiva Reddy, Dharmavarapu Subrahamanyam and many more filled the screen.

    • Quotes

Nayak: When my man told you're like a Hollywood hero, I thought he was exaggerating, you're exact like one! I would've been disappointed if you were shorter even by an inch, you're stunning to make even an enemy jealousy. I think of killing anyone who disturbs me, but I wished to see you, do you know why? When you talked to me on phone, the pride with which you talked, I liked the intensity in your voice. Till now l've blasted 26 bombs, I've killed 24 police officers who tried to catch me, 113 criminal cases are pending on me, Interpol is searching for me in 13 countries, all of them together couldn't even touch me, and you too! This is my track record. Release Bunty!

      G. Ajay Kumar: You crook! I'm not here to hand over your brother, I'm here to take you. I'm a gold medalist in 2006 IPS batch, I eliminated 46 gangsters in encounters when I was in Anti-Gunda squad, and undercover operations are unlimited. I did all this in the span of 5 years. This is not just my track record, this is ALL-TIME RECORD!
