Florence, finds herself immediately back on the Island, now undercover in the employ of Miranda Priestley, in true Saint Marie style, she's caught up, in murder.
I hate to start off my review by saying this, but what a real disappointment this episode was, considering its the final chapter for such a loved character, it really didn't do them any justice.
The final ten minutes were excellent, the problem is that the fifty or so that preceded it, were boring. They could have loaded this with tension, bit instead chose to give us something which never sprang to life.
Victoria Ekanoye was terrific as Miranda, she played the part incredibly well, stylish, tough, somewhat conceited, she really did add to it.
Would this have worked better if it came later on in the series, maybe there would have been more impact, it felt like it happened to soon in the series.
Far from bad, but in context I was disappointed, 6/10.

Miranda Priestly??? Really?? The writers couldn't come up with a more original name- Can you say The Devil Wears Prada?? This opening note was laughable and unfortunately set the tone for the rest of the episode. I don't understand the character of Florence at all anymore - she's in the series - she's out of the series - she's back in for a couple and then out.. Is this another case of an actor wanting to stretch their wings and then you never see them in anything else? I'm warming up to the new cast additions but how many stories of a murder on island can you do-shades of Midsommer Murders? Lol.
This was probably the worst episode as far as the police mystery element of the show goes.
The break from the normal format of the show was bold I guess, in that we know who did it from the start and then the rest of the show just goes looking for the details to prove it and they never really manage it. It's solved in a gun point "drag the confession out of your executioner before the kill you" plot device.
This was bad enough but the 'proof' they conjour out of thin air didn't add up.
The victim being shot outside and then going into the room and locking the door would be fine except there was no blood anywhere, and the bullet exited and lodged in an outside wall!!!
Rooms with doors closed becoming sound proof rooms ignoring how loud gunshots are, this episode was well below the not very high standards we expect for the mystery element of the show.
To be fair most of us are not here for the brain teaser murder solving as we're never given enough info to solve it ourselves, yes it's the characters we enjoy and unfortunately in this episode the details were pretty clunky too.
I get that it was a reprise second send off for a cast member who we know in hindsight comes back gain soon, but it just didn't add anything much to the story that was enjoyable, and her whole arc was clumsy and badly written.

- TriviaMiranda Priestly bears the same name as Meryl Streep's character in The Devil Wears Prada.
- GoofsThe victim is found in a locked room with a gunshot wound to his heart. They assume it's suicide as there is a gun nearby and a suicide note on his computer. If they did a gun residue test on the victim, they would have found out that he did not shoot the gun. They also did not test the computer keyboard for fingerprints.

Officer Marlon Pryce: How does the same guy that bought Jamaica Nights keep it right slap bang next to the Best of British Choral Music? I mean like, that's just a crime against reggae music right there.
