Andy and Jeremy provide hilarious commentary against the backdrop of Americana, while trying to uncover the true meaning of art and how that definition varies in different regions and varying age groups. It's both funny and insightful and you can't help but think about how YOU define art. It's lots of fun and, at moments, touching. These guys are so entertaining you kind of wish you were riding alongside them...until you see them camping in a WalMart parking lot and remember that there are in fact moments where even they look road-weary and you are safely tucked in your own living room that has a comfy couch and air conditioning. I highly, highly recommend this film!
This documentary begins as a fun boys trip across America but within a few minutes, you realize that this movie has heart and meaning and so much more than what appears on the surface. Jeremy and Andy met with dozens of artists during their 100 days on the road, from a man who says "poetry is what got him out of prison" to the playwright Edward Albee who has won numerous Pulitzer Prizes. Each person has a story that I connected with and found enlightening, and with the boys as our guide, I was equally engaged in their stories and struggles. The movie is wry, funny, poignant, and really a joy to watch.
I walked away from "kART Across America" inspired and reflective on my own priorities and actions, and I was surprised that two guys in a golf cart were able to make me feel this way. The sound track is amazing (there must have been 50 songs from bands I'm eager to hear more of) and the characters are lovable. I highly recommend this film, for young and old. It is lighthearted but substantial in meaning. I have two criticisms: I wanted to see more and I want to know what's next for these two.

This movie takes two men across America in a way that forces them to stop and smell the roses. It is filled with light hardheartedness and joy and was a pleasure to watch as people explain what their art is. Some of the answers were very surprising, all were endearing. I smiled the entire way through this film as Jeremy and Andy met up with wonderful people from all walks practicing their art. This film was especially endearing to me as I have not traveled though America extensively and so it is hard to lay a common theme on what America is. This film did not disappoint in uncovering the most important aspects of our communities. I can't think of any demographic that wouldn't enjoy this film. IMDb wants me to write more but all I can say is, See for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
