Perfect Strangers is a film that has been remade multiple times across various countries. This time, Indonesia has put its own spin on the original Italian film. The plot remains unchanged: seven friends dining together face a critical challenge involving their phones and their contents. I barely remember the original film, as I last watched it 2-3 years ago, but I do recall several scenes that are almost identical to the original. The Indonesian version is quite similar to the Italian one. I liked the original, and I equally enjoyed this version.
The build-up of the story is excellent, escalating from a low point to a dramatic climax. Each character's secrets are thoroughly explored, touching on issues ranging from romantic relationships and sexual orientation to their careers. It all starts with their phones, which hold all their hidden truths. The cast delivers strong performances, particularly Darius, Vino, and Clara. The conversations flow smoothly and don't feel stiff. A remake doesn't have to follow the original exactly, and this version captures the Indonesian essence through its story, characters, and dialogues.

This Indonesian remake is a captivating cinematic achievement. Stunning performances bring meticulously crafted characters to life with depth and nuance. The film's immersive opening masterfully establishes a realistic atmosphere, blurring the lines between fiction and reality. Relentless intensity and unexpected twists keep viewers on edge. Despite a confined setting, brilliant dialogue and exceptional acting make every moment compelling. The filmmakers' attention to detail enhances the storytelling, allowing the audience to effortlessly grasp the narrative's complexities. A triumph of filmmaking, seamlessly blending compelling storytelling, powerful performances, and masterful direction. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Seven best friends gathered for dinner together. All changed when they played the game with their mobile phones. The dark secrets that had been possessed by them began to be revealed.
Being one of the good film adaptations in terms of drama. Perfect Strangers is a perfect film that curates emotions and thoughts to follow the game and problems throughout the film. For me, the tension at the beginning of the film is so long. This is evident from the many dialogues that run for almost 30 minutes that feel empty and futile. It seems like wasting time. Although at the beginning of the film, each character is also introduced, but all of them are built quickly at the beginning of the film. After the first 30 minutes the tension of the film began to feel convincing. Character recognition also develops in every conflict that occurs so that we can easily understand the character of each cast. Likewise with the presence of conflicts that then arise continuously without any pause so that in each round the conflict of the story also develops. Conflicts are built densely and neatly so that we can feel the chaos that occurs during the conflict. This film is also inseparable from the humorous sense of humor which is quite funny. Even though the location setting is in one room, but it all does not give a sense of boredom.
For the actors who play I appreciate it well. They played really well and got deep into their roles. Darius Sinathrya and Nadine Alexandra play well as parents who are facing the complexities and harmony of their household. Denny Sumargo and Jessica Milla, who became a newly married couple, appeared a little laughable to see them continue to make excessive intimacy. Adipati Dolken and Clara Bernadeth who had personal problems in their relationship. Vino G. Bastian who changed his fat and bushy bearded appearance. At first glance we become unfamiliar with Vino's look. One thing that stuck out, Vino's voice was less clear. Vino's deep voice plus a thick beard requires us to hear carefully the remarks from Vino.
