It’s a fairly packed month on Hulu this February thanks to the addition of some interesting TV shows from FX and ABC. While the streamer’s own original content is somewhat limited – Life + Beth is returning for season 2 – you can also catch the new series of Feud this month. The new installment in Ryan Murphy’s juicy anthology show is based on the bestseller Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era by Laurence Leamer, and tells the story of Truman Capote’s betrayal and fall-out with New York’s most glamorous socialites. The cast is absolutely stacked, with Naomi Watts, Diane Lane, Chloë Sevigny and Calista Flockhart all swearing delicious revenge on Tom Hollander’s Capote.
Also via Hulu in February comes the third season of Abbott Elementary, along with new episodes of The Connors, The Good Doctor, Will Trent,...

“The family asks for privacy at this time,” the statement continued.
Wilkinson was nominated for six BAFTA awards over the course of his career, winning best performance by an actor in a supporting role in 1998 for The Full Monty. His other nods included recognition for Michael Clayton, In the Bedroom and Shakespeare in Love.
In The Full Monty, he played Gerald, a former steel mill foreman who joins his fellow unemployed workers in staging a strip show.

Black Knight season 2 is not confirmed yet, as Netflix has not announced its renewal or cancellation. The first season had a satisfying ending, so there might not be much interest in a new entry. There is no release date for season 2, but if it gets greenlit, it will most likely be released between the end of 2024 and 2025. The CGI visuals took a lot of time and effort to create, so a similar amount of time will be needed for filming and completion. If season 2 is produced, the main cast, including Kim Woo-bin, Esom, and Kang You-seok, would likely return. There is a possibility that Song Seung-heon, despite being caught in an explosion, could also return due to his character's mutant abilities.

There’s no more appropriate reason to put Monty Python and the Holy Grail back in theaters than the celebration of a comically off-year anniversary. That is exactly what’ll happen this December, when the 1975 comedy classic returns to the big screen to celebrate its 48th-and-a-half anniversary.
The film will screen in select theaters across the country on Dec. 3, with additional showings scheduled for Dec. 6. For those who simply cannot help themselves, select theaters will be showing a special “Quote-a-Long” version of the film, while offering a safe space for...

Mohamed Diab's comments suggest that Moon Knight season 2 may not be developed for the MCU, as Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed its continuation. Despite the uncertainty, the popular characters from Moon Knight, such as Oscar Isaac's Marc Spector, could potentially appear in other projects within the MCU, including street-level stories or future Avengers films. There is speculation that Marvel Studios may be setting up a Midnight Sons team in the MCU, which could involve the return of Moon Knight and other supernatural characters. However, the future of Moon Knight in the MCU remains unclear at this time.
Mohamed Diab's comments suggest Moon Knight season 2 won't be developed for the MCU. Oscar Isaac debuted in the McU's Phase 4 as Marc Spector, a former mercenary with dissociative identity disorder (Did) who shares his body with alternate personalities Steven Grant and Jake Lockley, and is also the avatar of the...

Busan’s industry platform, Asian Contents & Film Market (Acfm), is a marketplace where sales agents set up their stalls to sell projects in development and completed films. But increasingly, it’s also becoming a place where producers can find the stories and other source material they need to bring those films and series to life.
Last year, Acfm launched the Busan Story Market, a more user-friendly moniker for the various strands of the market that present works available for adaptation and remake. The initiative was a hit with industry participants and this year has been adjusted further to include a greater number of early stage IPs.
“The feedback we received last year is that the industry hoped to discover more original works, rather than material that has already been adapted, including stories that have yet to be published,” explains Acfm general manager Seri Park.

Eternals set up four major MCU storylines: Arishem's return, the aftermath of Tiamut's birth, Eros' arrival, and Dane Whitman's team-up with Blade. The only Eternals set-up that may be paid off soon is the potential conflict over Tiamut's birth, which could involve Captain America and the Thunderbolts dealing with an international fight for adamantium. Eternals' mixed reception has reduced the likelihood of a sequel, and the McU's multiversal focus makes it unlikely for the Eternals and their cliffhangers to have a big role in the near future.
Out of the four storylines Eternals set up back in Phase 4, the MCU might only be addressing one in the near future. The Eternals are usually a very distant and self-contained group of characters in the Marvel Comics universe. They influence the world in silence and rarely interact with teams like the Avengers. There are literally hundreds of films and TV shows about or featuring King Arthur going back well over a century – there are silent films, musicals, animated films, comedies, dramas. You name it, there is a King-Arthur-themed version of it. There are not a small number of “Best of…” lists floating around the internet as well. But how do you know which of the recommendations is really going to scratch your King Arthur-shaped itch?
MGM+’s new series about King Arthur, The Winter King, is a combination of gritty historical fiction and “low” fantasy. It is also fairly grim and violent. Where to Watch Powered by Kit Harington is developing a Game of Thrones spinoff about Jon Snow, but there is no official confirmation yet. HBO is cautious about the Jon Snow sequel and will only move forward if the story is good enough, which puts Harington in a similar position to the one he faces with the MCU as Black Knight. Harington could return as Jon Snow, Black Knight, both, or neither, depending on how things play out, but going back to Game of Thrones is the riskiest, yet most enticing, option.

Dystopian futures have made for an interesting film genre worth exploring over the years. Post apocalyptic series like Silo and Black Knight are two of the more recent offerings, both delivering unique takes on what is a widely explored genre. None, however, has taken the path being carved out by director Michael Tyburski’s dystopian romantic comedy Turn Me On. The sci-fi comedy has wrapped principal photography and a first image has been released which teases love and romance in a world where it is not allowed.

There’s nothing drab about Netflix’s Korean action series Black Knight, which released all six Season 1 episodes on Friday. Although set in a dystopia, the show doesn’t feel like a hopeless slug — at least in the first episode — thanks its charismatic leads, who bring much-welcomed humor to the dark story.

Webtoon and Ott platforms have been long-standing partners over the years. The widespread success of dramas like Sweet Home and Nevertheless has brought more viewers to the world of online webcomics that have been transformed into live-action dramas. Netflix brings us yet another one titled Black Knight literally translated from Korean to “Deliveryman”, which is based on a webtoon of the same name, written and illustrated by Lee Yun Kyun. The Manhwa (graphic novel) has also made its way to the Webtoons apps just in time for the series release, so if you’re interested in seeing the action in both forms, visit the Webtoons app and read Black Knight. Now, let’s dive into the series.

Yet another Korean dystopian drama graces our screens, but this time there are no zombies involved. The post-apocalyptic K-drama titled Black Knight or Deliveryman, as it is known in Korean, makes the peninsula a desert land with no oxygen to breathe. There are many red flags right there, but the show goes as far as to create an underground world with sectors that are divided by cast, essentially like the Hunger Games or, if you want to make random ties, the Netflix film The Platform. This time the classes go underground, and the lower you go, the richer they are. In theory, Black Knight sounds wonderful, but in practice, the show doesn’t translate very well specifically because there is so much to cover in much less time.
It is 2071, and around forty years ago, there was a comet that hit the earth and destroyed 99% of the world’s population.

Black Knight is a South Korean series written and directed by Choi Ui-seok. It stars Kim Woo-bin.
Black Knight is a great South Korean series, this time in the apocalyptic sense of the story, gathering all the experience of the industry that, since Train to Busan, has given such good results.
Black Knight (2023-)
Black Knight is full of intrigue and subplots, but the action scenes are the queens of the show, standing out in rhythm and giving agility to each episode, which splashes with fights, chases, car races and so on.
Above all, it stands out in its outdoor setting, with a Korea turned into a desert, and it resorts to brutal photographic contrast.
A production with quality and with clear ideas of what it wants and, above all, with the well-learnt lesson of what works for the public. It knows how to play its cards and give in...

While it isn’t always as gripping as it tries to reach for, there is a delightfully cartoonish nature to the world of Black Knight that is juxtaposed against the darkness of its dystopian premise. Some of this makes sense — considering it is actually based on a webtoon — but it also becomes far more expansive than that. There may be some who attempt to superficially compare it to another South Korean series like Squid Game because of the way it introduces a dangerous competition, but a more apt point of reference would be the masterpiece that is Mad Max: Fury Road. Though none of the six episodes of Black Knight are as ambitious and assured as that film, with some of its special effects often glaringly hollow, there is still an enduring charm to the experience that breaks free in some of the more chaotic sequences. When the action begins...

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s first scripted TV series, the Jennifer Lopez-starring action film The Mother and documentaries featuring Anna Nicole Smith and Barack Obama are among the high-profile projects hitting Netflix this month.
At the end of May, the streamer is dropping the Schwarzenegger-starring spy comedy Fubar, in which the former California governor and Top Gun: Maverick’s Monica Barbaro play a father and daughter who discover they’ve each been secretly working as CIA operatives as they’re forced to team up and get to know each other’s true selves.
And earlier this month, in time for Mother’s Day, Lopez plays an assassin who emerges from hiding to protect a daughter she gave up for adoption years earlier in The Mother, streaming this Friday. The Niki Caro-directed action movie also stars Joseph Fiennes, Lucy Paez, Omari Hardwick, Paul Raci and Gael Garcia Bernal and was written by Andrea Berloff,...

Netflix is diving into dystopian futures once more with the latest gem from Korea, Black Knight. Starring Kim Woo-bin (The Heirs) and Esom (Kill Boksoon), the 6-episode series is a high-octane thriller that envisions a world with air pollution so severe that the remaining 1% of the population left alive relies on special "delivery men" to for their vital necessities. This post-apocalyptic version of Korea is run by the mighty Cheonmyeong Group, but one delivery man known as 5-8 (Woo-bin) sees them for the vultures they truly are.
Though Black Knight is based on a popular webtoon, director Cho Ui-seok's vision for the series has taken a different turn from its source material. One such instance is the young protagonist Sa-wol (played by Start Up's Kang Yoo-seok), a refugee who was secretly taken in by Defense Intelligence Command officer Seol-ah (Esom). After a tragedy strikes close to home, he decides...

Black Knight is a dystopian Korean drama based on the Delivery Knight webtoon by Lee Yoon-gyun, but it also serves as a long overdue reunion for stars Kim Woo-bin and Esom. The two actors previously appeared together in the KB2 drama special series White Christmas in 2011, a psychological thriller whose bleak premise might rival their current Netflix project. In Black Knight, they are joined by the younger actor Kang Yoo-seok (Start-Up), whose character Sa-wol has much to learn from each of them.
The story of Black Knight opens in 2071, after a cataclysmic change in air pollution has made Earth nearly uninhabitable. Only 1% of the population survives, and the Korean peninsula relies on heroic deliverymen, known as Black Knights, to bring them daily necessities. Woo-bin plays 5-8, a mysterious delivery man who reluctantly takes the young Sa-wol under his wing. Esom plays Sa-wol's guardian Seol-ah, whose investigation into mysterious deaths intertwines...

Netflix's upcoming Korean drama Black Knight may be based on a webtoon, but those familiar with the original story will find that the series offers a very different experience. To begin with, the protagonist Sa-wol (played by Start Up's Kang Yoo-seok) is a boy instead of a girl, though his admiration of 5-8 (The Heirs star Kim Woo-bin) and the deliveryman program remains the same. The series was written and directed by Choi Ui-seok, who previously teamed up with Woo-bin on the 2016 hit Master.
The filmmaker and star's familiarity with each other strengthens the unfamiliar world of Black Knight, especially as it provides the opportunity to dig into the psyche of a character as stoic as 5-8 tends to be. The world of futuristic science fiction is relatively new to Woo-bin, who dipped his toe in it last year with Alienoid, and he shared his research process with Screen Rant...

Recent hype has got everyone talking about the new Netflix original Beef, a series in which two complete strangers engage in a series of petty acts of revenge over a road rage incident. Starring Ali Wong as Amy and Steven Yeun as Daniel, we look into the lives of our two main characters and all the complexities and hardships that fuel the unfortunate and escalating feud between them. The show has received critical praise and has done exceptionally well in ratings and viewings, which leads us to wonder if the series will continue for season 2.
Creator of Beef, Lee Sung Jin, is prepared to do more should the show be given the green light by Netflix, and according to recent news, two more seasons have already been mapped out. However, Lee Sung Jin has confirmed that a new season will bring us a whole new cast of characters and a...

Marvel's Blade is set to release September 6th, 2024 with a brand-new actor portraying Blade after the iconic performance by Wesley Snipes. The film's plot remains a mystery, but since it's the first time the character will be introduced into the MCU, there's a good chance that it will act as his origin story. In the comics, Blade is what's known as a Dhampir: a half-human, half-vampire hybrid that has vampire-like abilities but can survive in sunlight. In addition, he's a vampire hunter who works with several of Marvel's well-known heroes, even becoming an Avenger. Blade will likely keep his backstory very similar to the comics, and will follow Captain America: New World Order in theaters.
The first actor confirmed in Blade was Mahershala Ali, as the titular Blade. His voice was briefly featured in the post-credits scene for Eternals, where he spoke to Kit Harington's Dane Whitman. Since Blade's initial announcement,...

Must-watch comedy series, eye-opening documentaries and an expansion of the “Bridgerton” universe are among the noteworthy additions to Netflix this month. May 12 sees the premiere of Jennifer Lopez’s new Netflix original film “The Mother,” in which she plays an assassin lured back in for one last job. And on May 23, the documentary “Victim/Suspect” examines how sexual assault victims too often get turned into suspects when they report their assaults.
“Queen Charlotte,” the “Bridgerton” prequel series, arrives on May 4 while a new season of Tim Robinson’s sketch series “I Think You Should Leave” drops on May 30. And if you missed the most recent season of the niche (but delightful) comedy series “Documentary Now!,” you can stream that on Netflix starting May 9.

Netflix recently announced it would be investing $2.5 billion into South Korean programming. Before Squid Game season 2 comes down the pike, however, the first seeds of that investment will bear fruit for Netflix in May 2023.
Netflix’s list of new releases for May 2023 is highlighted by the May 12 release of Korean series Black Knight. Set “in a dystopian 2071 devastated by air pollution,” this show will follow world-saving deliverymen known as “Black Knights.” Other international offerings this month include Japanese sumo drama Sanctuary on May 4 and Spanish crime thriller Muted on May 19.
Netflix’s domestic TV options this month include Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story on May 4. That will be followed by post-apocalyptic animated comedy Mulligan on May 12 and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s TV debut Fubar on May 25. And for those hoping for “triples,” I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson premieres on May 30.
On the movie side of things, Netflix has an unusually busy month.

Eternals' Black Knight tease has become even more disappointing thanks to the latest Blade update. Marvel Studios delivered a surprise in Eternals' post-credits scene when Mahershala Ali's Blade was heard speaking to Kit Harington's Dane Whitman. The scene appeared to be a sign that Dane would make an appearance in Blade. This team-up opportunity immediately caught the attention of fans, especially as it signaled a chance for Dane to actually wield the Ebony Blade and take on the Black Knight mantle after failing to do so in Eternals' post-credits scene.
The assumption that Black Knight would be in Blade has become a bigger question mark around the film as time has progressed. Marvel Studios never confirmed plans to have Kit Harington return to the MCU for the Phase 5 film, which created doubt about the possibility. Furthermore, rumors have swirled that the vampire-centric film will be an MCU prequel...

"Black Knight" is a new live-action TV series, written and directed by Cho Ui-seok, adapting the 'webtoon' "Delivery Knight" by Lee Yoon-gyun, following 'Sa-wol' living in a dystopian country ravaged by air pollution making it uninhabitable without an oxygen mask, streaming May 12, 2023 on Netflix:

"It’s not the delivery men that we know of – they fight off the hunters to deliver oxygen and daily necessities, meaning that they play the most crucial role in the survival of the remaining mankind. That really appealed to me.”
