In some measure, a familiar story. The knight in danger, his cruelty, dreams , selfishness, greed and brutal reaction, ingratitude and wiekness, stupidity and ddesire of immortality. The precis portrait and the advise of a talking rock ( the memories about Neverending story by Michael Ende are a good source about familiarity with the conversation scenes )and a not less predictable end .
The atmosphere, the acting, the reactions of knight are just the virtues defining this short fantasy as good exercise of return to shadows of childhood or to simple forms of profound greed.
In short, a seductive story, well crafted end , fine solutions for define each character and nice portrait of ingratitude and illusion.
So, just seductive.

No pun intended and not I am not talking about the Rock (Dwayne Johnson) nor does the movie talk about that. Rock of Ages could be his nickname though. But back to this short movie - which is quite predictable and maybe therefor was not a favorite with most people at the Fantasy Filmfest it was shown with 9 other short movies.
As you can see I quite liked it. Yes I also knew where this was going (or coming back to if you excuse the pun), but I liked how it was done, I liked the humor and costume, the effects and the main actor. You may not know his name (I don't either, sorry) and I hope he does not mind being called the bald guy - but he has quite the memorable face. And is a really good actor too.
You kinda feel for him ... even if you do not know much about him. I guess Valhalla is not for everyone ... other things aren't either though ...
