    best show

the concept of the show looked boring to me at first but i only saw one episode and thought it was brilliant , the show is narrated by commentators and has stats to show petes progress about anything he is doing

it was just well made , the shows popularity was not as good as it could have been because the ratings were low due to the late night time it was aired , this is proof that hit shows are not always successful when flop shows take their place like the inbetweeners , peter vs life is a classic show that was very good but not marketed by channel 4 for anyone who has not seen this show , it is worth a watch and you will know how funny the show is , each episode has a different theme and the characters are characterised well

pete has a selfish personality and only likes his friend , he also has a rival who is the opposite of pete , pete and his dad are always challenging each other

petes life is of different characters but pete is always trying to get his way all the time but the tricky situations pete gets himself in keep coming back to him when he can usually do things in a simple way but he takes a silly route to get in trouble with everyone

MOTD, where the match is Pete's life.Great idea!

Fantastic show, mates, so far. It's quick and malicious, and we see at all times two sports-like broadcasters, who are making all the fun they possibly can out of this Pete's guy life. The main character is not at all innocent himself, he is somewhere near the types from Peep Show, managing to pull out some horrible social mishaps. They are all young and so the satire applies to the up to date trends of the 20-30 something, and the omniscient life-broadcasters are making sure to replay the most awkward scenes of every episode, in the way we would imagine Pete would replay them in his mind, if he had a conscience, which is yet doubtful, luckily for the humor we expect to see in the series. Very structured way of putting the fresh idea into a sitcom, so far, and a excellent provider of good laughs, especially if one is used to the sports shows, because this is how the series is intended to be. Thumbs up. And personally I do not agree to the comparison with Woody Allen. Maybe the technique per se, but not the overall atmosphere.

    The British Curb Your Enthusiasm

Pete V Life is brilliant. Very funny, always engaging with first rate writing and acting. It's a comedy based on social awkwardness, much like Curb Your Enthusiasm, but takes its own path and uses ingenious and surreal plot drivers. The two commentators are fantastic and the idea of them in itself is awesome. Each set piece is shot, framed, directed, scripted and acted to the absolute best it could be. Seriously, this show is made by masters of their craft. How is it not more well known? Added to all this is the sports type profiling of each character as they appear. The writers have clearly had great fun with this element and if you don't freeze frame it you'll miss some laugh out loud moments. Congratulations to the writers, producers and actors. This is among the best comedy shows ever made. Yes. RRally.

    Refreshingly different & very funny

This is 12 years old but I'd never heard of it and just stumbled across it by chance. There are generally very few comedies I get past more than a single episode but have just watched the entire first season of 'Pete vs Life' and it's hilarious. Rafe Spall is excellent and the match of the day style is very funny and provides an extra layer of comedy.

I can't believe this slipped under the radar - it's vastly superior to a lot of the other dross that masquerades as comedy and feels like it should have a stronger following.

Hopefully second season just as good but even if not would still recommend purely on the basis of being something different.
