This was made locally so it was cool to see my area but seriously nothing happens. I enjoyed most of Noel Clarke's movies and thought this would be similar. It's not. Worst movie I've seen in a while. Watch Top Boy if you haven't seen it, if you have seen it watch it again before watching this.
The film is about a young man's attempts to move away from a life of violent crime, with the help of a wholesome country girl who comes to stay with his friend in the city, only to find himself the target of retaliation.
I actually really enjoyed this film, the acting was quite decent, it had an enjoyable story line, a bit of a parable. The rich father was in some of Shane Meadow's films, I've seen the black guy who looks after his sister in a recent BBC comedy drama about a bunch of diverse characters on a probation based community work group, he did a good job of the acting on that one as well.
I watched this movie with low expectations, but i was surprisingly glued to the screen through the entire movie.
As for the acting, i did not feel like it could be any better. As for the storyline, its good, and will throw in some surprises for you..
Basically a story of a young guy who has had to take care of his little sister since he was 16, because his no-good mother left them. He turned to crime, to be able to take care of his little sister. But as others had been victims to his crimes, so was he. A story of how we can all be victims...
Watch it, its much better than most of you think.

i watched this film with no expectations - other than an attraction to the gritty London setting and a willingness to give a no-name British film a chance - and no reference points because of the internet's total ignoration
is it complex? is it well acted? is it well scripted? well probably not
is it worth watching? yes
it isn't "wild bill" which i watched for exactly the same reasons and in exactly the same circumstances, but it's certainly worth watching. i didn't feel there was enough back-story to the character "Mia" but the other main characters were utterly believable archetypes (NOT stereotypes) and i applaud it
