Yoo Joon-sang, Jeong Jae-yeong, and Park Hae-il in Iggi (2010)
While sick and tired of living in the city, Hae-guk (PARK Hae-il) hears that his father, YOO Mok-hyung (HUH Jun-ho), whom he hadnÂ’t spoken to for over 20 years, had passed away. But when he goes to the village where his father had lived, the village folks strangely keep their guards up and seem quite uncomfortable around him.

Hae-guk is invited to dinner by some village folks after his fatherÂ’s funeral. It seems the people are set on rushing him out of their village. Regardless, Hae-guk announces he wonÂ’t be leaving for Seoul, but stay in the village. The people exchange mysterious looks. Then, the Chief (JUNG Jae-young) accepts and tells Hae-guk to settle down in the village.

On Chief CHUN Yong-dukÂ’s orders, the village people suddenly start acting differently around Hae-guk. The Chief looks like a normal elderly man at a glance, but he is frighteningly charismatic, seems all knowing, and the village people appear to be following him like a god. Meanwhile, Hae-guk gets all the more suspicious of everyone in the villageÂ…

    Pretty good suspense thriller

This movie is enough to keep anyone's attention till end. Though it is a bit long movie, but can't compliant about duration. It will encourage anyone to solve the puzzles and stick with the movie until it's ending. This movie starts with a son arriving at hometown when his father is dead. As time passes, he starts noticing everyone's suspicious behaviours which leads him to believe his father was murdered. To know more about village people and reason of their acting weird, he starts digging in. In this quest for revelation, he almost killed several times. So, what's going on the village? Why they are after him?

Amazing Korean mystery/thriller with a very good build up

I managed to see this Korean movie at AMC theater and despite the long running time it was well worth the time. The build up to this movie is very good and had my interest throughout the whole movie. In fact I was glued to the screen really wanting to know what is going on and it was very entertaining as the pieces of the puzzle started getting put together piece by piece. Even the characters constantly leads you to believe what is going on is something mind blowing. And although everything about this movie is very well done, the main disappointing part of this movie is the conclusion. Jeong Jae-Yeong is very good in this role and so is Heo Jun-Ho who is perfect for this role. Yoo-Sun's acting wasn't amazing or anything but I liked her presence in this. The plot about this movie is about a son visiting a village since his father died and finds strange things going on in the village a certain mystery. And the more he digs into what is going on the more dangerous the situation becomes for him. Like I said this movie was way longer than I expected, but I don't have any complaints about that since I found the story to keep getting intriguing as it progressed. This film is based on a Korean internet comic and although I haven't read the comic I can tell it stayed faithful to the comic or probably even better than the comic itself. The flashbacks and switching between time-lines is done in a clever and fluid manner and doesn't get annoying or irritating while watching. This is a very good Korean mystery/thriller that should be seen at least once. Despite knowing the twist I wouldn't mind seeing it again.

Wow... go see this one. "bloody" amazing.

i don't know if you have noticed how good Korean film have been in the past few years. OldBoy, Chaser, i saw the devil change the way i looked at Korean cinema and thrillers in particularly. this one is no different, if not better. everything about it is great: the suspense, music, acting, story buildup, and even... the final scene. yes its a bit long, but worth every second, as you cant get bored with t, its just getting better and better. i had to go back to the movie thread to understand some of the details i missed / or deliberately left out to the viewers to decide... normally i don't like the directors do that to us "poor" viewers, but here i didn't mind really. all good. very good indeed.
