....blink, and you'll miss a clue. I had heard the movie mentioned in a different movie review so when it popped up on a free HBO preview weekend, I gave it a look. Hooked me right away. Lots of totally unlikable characters with unexpected twists. Give it a watch, or even two, so you catch what you missed the 1st time
The first half-hour or so is intentionally confusing and rather draggy, but all that's going on becomes apparent throughout the rest of the film, which is well-produced with good, though not great, acting. A film without heroes, COLLISION may be a bit too violent, gory, and grim for some tastes. It's also a bit too humorless and slow-moving to be called a "thriller." Still, the way it shows how the different circles of people and the supposed allies within the circles conspire and are all at odds with each and every other is thought-provoking. The whole message seems to be that "No one wins--or if anyone does, it's the wrong people in the wrong ways--when people conspire and connive over money, power, 'love,' etc." COLLISION also takes some risks in the way its entanglements untangle at the disheartening but strangely fitting end. As unsettling as it may be, this film is anything but predictable.
It is very surprising that this movie has a lower rating. It is actually a very good movie. The story is good and the acting is very good. All of the actors are new to me with the exception of one who acted in days of glory another good movie.
Would recommend anyone who likes good movies to watch this disregarding the current low rating. You would not be disappointed. It keeps you thinking and at the edge of your seat for most of the movie. This is not a movie that you can watch and easily predict the ending. To think that I almost did not watch this movie because the rating was a little low for me. Wow was I surprised. This is a movie of intrigue, treachery, action and deception. The list could go on.

RANDOM FILMS PART 7 Now, what can I say about Collision? Shall I mention it was originally called 'Intersections'? I'm sensing a theme here...
Should I talk about the fact that no-one can trust each other? Seriously, this is House Of Cards levels of deception...
I could prattle on about how there isn't a decent woman to be found in the movie (apart from right at the end)?
On the same topic, how about the underlying sexist message that females are only after one thing? (Clue: It start with M and rhymes with funny, though they're not spelt the same, unless you're dyslexic. )
There's a REALLY good car cra... Oh, you already guessed that by looking at the title. Silly me.
Er... The desert looks good at this time of year? Seriously folks, I'm struggling here. I've seen ALL this before... The backstabbing, the artificial tension, the stupid decisions, the frenetic last few minutes... Only, done much better.
Wondering why you've never heard of this film? Wonder no longer. 5/10

Here's a movie with a generic title, produced by Luc Besson (Fifth Element) but manages to be pretty damn good!! The twists and turns and satisfying ending were all worth it in my opinion. Frank Grillo was really good and Jamie Alexander (Thor) owned it!!
Definitely worth watching!!

- TriviaAlso released (for example in Australia) under the title "Intersections."
- GoofsSaleh sabotages the Nissan Pathfinders engine to avoid Omar driving off without them by removing a spark plug. You can hear clearly that in fact its a diesel engine which does not use spark plugs.
Added note: While Pathfinders do come with diesel engines, this one clearly sounded to me like a standard internal combustion motor. When some of the characters switch to a Mercedes later in the movie, you can clearly hear the difference. I don't think this was a goof.
- Quotes
Taylor Dolan: [stranded in the desert applying her makeup]
Travis: What is she doing?
Scott Dolan: Embracing denial.
- Crazy creditsWhile the credits roll, pictures from Jaimie Alexander's character's SD card are shown.
