    Tash Force

Tash Force is an excellent film, much funnier than anything currently showing on TV. Mark Woodward as the 'hero' Tash McDermott, is on a mission to stop football hooliganism. The only problem with this quest is that Tash (unknown to himself) is totally inept! The format is that of a spoof documentary; 'a day in the life' genre. Ian Wiggins plays the journalist assigned to this job and provides a perfect foil for the calamitous Tash. It is not often these days that I am amused enough to laugh out loud at antics on the big screen and my reaction was definitely one shared by the audience who broke into spontaneous applause. I am convinced that Tash McDermott will soon be a cult figure!

Fantastic local film for us northerners to be proud of!

Having been fortunate enough to be able to attend the premiere of "Tash Force" i can with total confidence say that this is an extremely funny film. The film likens itself to "Spinal Tap meets The Bill", whilst this is a highly accurate description, there are moments of genius humour which reminded me greatly of "The Office". The acting throughout is excellent, the delivery of dialogue is spot on and the comedy timing is perfection. By the end of the film my jaw was sore from laughter and with being from the Blackburn area (where it is set) it was great to see the town being used to its full potential.

In conclusion, if you like football, documentaries and laugh out loud cringe worthy genius, this is the film for you! 10/10

    Great Film

an absolute brilliant film, great to see one of Lancashire's finest actors out on our local streets. from the preview clips all over the internet i knew it was going to be worth a watch. on viewing it at the preview i was not disappointed and was truly in hysterics from straight up front comedy with a well thought out background and storyline. Tash could easily be your neighbour or a bobby in the local force, everybody knows someone like Tash from his ways and his mannerisms. honestly a great film for anyone who enjoys a good laugh. Well filmed and scripted and finished off to a high degree with a fitting soundtrack and stunning picture. Look out for Tash McDermot

Tash Force is a great, funny, low budget, independent film set in Blackburn Lancashire; featuring the wonderful comic character Tash McDermott

Despite the lack of budget and exclusive use of available free local talent the film is professionally filmed in HD and achieves a high level of sophistication. The film is based on the premise that grant funding for local amateur talent has been awarded to local filmmakers so they can make a serious reality documentary. Consequently, any 'amateur' elements within the film can be embraced as they add to the authenticity as 'Tash Force' as a local amateur filming project. For the subject of their 'documentary' they choose to spend a few days filming Tash McDermott, of Lancashire Police's Football Intelligence Unit.

In contrast to the sophistication of the film is the choice of subject Tash McDermott, Tash is an archaic 'old school' traditional policeman finding it difficult to get by in this the modern 'liberal' world where 'women are managers and can go to football matches' and 'breaking the noses of offending children is suddenly frowned upon'. The film makers 'mockumentary' is largely in the hands of Tash McDermott who relishes his chance to feature in the piece and demonstrate his skills. Tash is a likable, stupid, out of touch, sad, comedic treasure brilliantly portrayed by Mark Woodward - wearing a terrible grey wig throughout. Tash clearly enjoys being followed around by a film crew and tries to educate his audience into the art of football intelligence and plays up to the camera with terrible impressions, anecdotes and his view of the world. His dialogue, mannerisms and expressions are comic joy throughout the film and Mark Woodward's depiction of Tash gives no opportunities for the audience to rest from the barrage of comedy on show. The film is a real treat, and in view of the 'no budget', 'local actors,' 'independent' nature of the project made in a couple of weeks, Tash Force is an outstanding achievement.

    A very enjoyable evening

Very enjoyable indie movie, from a talented group of people working on practically no budget. A great response from the local public who turned out in force to view the movie and make a worth while contribution to charity...It's just a pity the local press didn't do it justice by at least turning up on the night to comment on the hard work these fellows had put in,and at least show a modicum of support for some local talent. Look forward to seeing the next project. If you get the chance and need cheering up, watch it! The story centres around a willing yet I.Q. challenged police officer whose remit it is to track down a vicious football thug. Tash stumbles from one farce to another, with his politically incorrect form of policing. It's very difficult not to feel some kind of sympathy for tash, who comes across as a dinosaur from another age.
