Delicious compelling short film in which you, even though it only lasts for about half an hour, completely forget the time. The images, dreams vs. reality, the blues, the paranoia and openness. The confusion and disillusionment. The fused identity, awareness and change in identity that creates opportunities. Private detective WIKOBUS(Read: Bukowski!)finds himself in a dead end street paralyzing his brains with cigarette smoke & whiskey. Almost motionless sitting there in his shabby attic listening to Mozart, at the start of the film, drops a clue for "greater" things that are about to happen. (Linking up with Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange). But first he plunges into deep dark blues café's. Here the wonderful Dutch band THE TRALALA'S contribute to a terrific soundtrack covering some blues giants and even a rewritten version of Bob Dylan's "Things have Changed". Through a series of startling missions, even haunting a golden contra bass, WIKOBUS' way of perceiving reality changes from paranoid black & white, to a more colourful palette with a dash of sensuality & love. Of course! How enlightening and shaking awake do you want it do be? Exactly! The next step is yours! "Come on baby and take ride with us! Let's Meet at the back of the blue bus!"
