Aadhi Bhagavan: The film we've all been expecting from director Ameer and actor "Jeyam" Ravi. Many people had high hopes for it to be trend- setter. About the film, the storyline is different and amazing, yet not for everyone. The first half blends the artistic portrayal of a high class gangsters' lifestyle. It somehow makes you experience the similar experience while watching "The Godfather" due to the similar portrayal of a mafia family. The tone of the film in the first half makes you feel like this is going to be another masterpiece like "Nayakan". The BGM is also amazing , kudos to Mr. Yuvan Shankar Raja. The second half on the other hand, takes us to a whole new level, and that's where the real brilliance begins. Director Ameer really deserves a standing ovation for making gangster films in a total different manner. His way of contrasting two characters was flawless, and that was heavily possible due to Mr. Ravi's acting skills and expressions. In the beginning, even I sighed as I thought this was going to be another cliché where double acting is concerned. I was proved wrong as this film was wonderful and can only be enjoyed by A class audiences. For people who're expecting a commercial film, please head to the "Alex Pandian" group of audiences. As for the film being a trend-setter, I'd say it definitely succeeds.

I went to the cinema hall expecting a total badass gangsta flick, did i get what i wanted?yeah, to some extent.Ameer who has previously made movies like Ram and Paruthiveeran experiments with a full blown commercial flick.
Aadhi Shanmugam is a gangster based in Bangkok,he earns the wrath of Rao brothers of Andhra Pradesh after he steals their stash posing as a CBI officer.Gradually he falls out with his boss Mr.Shyam , and everyone including his former boss and Rao brothers want him dead.Meanwhile he falls for a waitress and follows her to Mumbai. What happens next is the interesting part of the story.
This movie is by far the best movie of jayam ravi,he convincingly pulls of both the roles of aadhi and bhagavan.Neetu chandra has acted well too. There appears to be a few open ends but maybe the director has plans for a sequel.

Seriously Tamil film directors have gone nuts especially the reputed ones.Aadhibagavan fails at many places.
Story is run of the mill and Screenplay fails big time.
Editing irritates mostly at the Fight scenes.Dubbing also is very poor.
Music and BGM fail to impress.2nd half is very dragging and full of loopholes.Climax is pathetic.
The movie is a rehash of Billa-2007 and Scarface at many places.
Aadhibagavan will definitely sink at the box office and drift away from the viewer's mind.
Avoid this movie if you value your time and money.

I expected a lot from Ameer. I am dead fan of Ameer from 'Mounam Pesiyathe'. But he disappointed me a lot in this movie. He proves that he can't give a mass movie with commercial mas-ala. We expected to be a normal.. Expecting a good movie again from you, Ameer !! Sorry to give low rating. All the best for next movie !!I appreciate Ravi and Neetu effort. My rating is complete on director. First half is completely disappointing. Ameer's strength is deep and clear screen play. I felt that he missed same in this movie. Music is average. We expected a lot from Ameer. Hope he will provide a nice movie in future. 'Aathi Bhagavan' is below average movie. But Still I like Ameer as good director.
After 2 years I have expected lot from Ameer and Ravi also but Im disappointed after seeing 1st half.but when the Mumbai Bhagavan character there was some sound wakes me up in the theater. And after interval BGM of Yuvan Rocks and it makes me entertained and of course acting of Jayam Ravi also quite brilliant(Bhagavan) and its not like Robo Aadhi and in Aadhi character he walks like Robo and don't have any expression and he should learn it from Thala from Billa.Coming to actress they should have go for some leading actress and climax fight by Neetu Chandra was good. But, her lip sync for her Tamil dialogs is below-par, truth to tell.overall Bhagavan was good and rating for him was 4/5 and for Aadhi was 1/5.
