How did this script get approved?

A shockingly bad episode in an otherwise great season. Lundy episodes are all brutal, but this is the worst yet. Considering this was a spring break episode, it appears to be aired out of order in January, with none of the continuing storyline from the previous episodes. What the heck happened here?

I Think this was the best Episode of the Series so far

Best Episode of the Series, very very funny, had nerdy-themes and was very entertaining, loved it so much.

The Mary Cooper-Story was awesome, also The Sheldon-Story really good.

Nathan, an adult who cosplays as Jean Luc Picard, is played by Steve Burns, who wrote the theme song for Young Sheldon. He was also the original host for the Nickelodeon show Jeu de Bleue (1996).

Goofs
During the bus ride, Star Trek (1966) is called "The Original Series". It has never been titled this way. In 1992 (when this episode takes place), it was known simply as "Star Trek", its correct name. The added "original series" is recent and is not the title of the series.
