Au mariage de nos âmes loyales

A film reminding the bitterness of reality, an eulogy of love, a portrait of effort to meet the other , a way between hope and falls, an interview for the political asylum in United Kingdom , a bookshop and a book, the sonnet 116 by William Shakespeare and a paper boat and inspired cinematography. An admirable short film about love and the sacrifices pretended by it . Short, a film becoming itself a poem.

This was so good. The idea was original, the execution was excellent, the acting was top notch and the diction of the actors was clear. About the latter, I speak (poor) Moroccan Arabic but found that the clarity of the speaking voices meant that I could understand much of what was being said in the Iraqi dialect.

The framing of the film by one of the most enigmatic and romantic of the sonnets of Shakespeare was a master stroke. The image of the paper boat throughout from childhood to adulthood held the film together and explained so much without words. It made the bond between the two men overt and showed how profound it was.

So much was packed into such a short time. I do recommend this.
