The Bastard Son

War is mainly a catalogue of blunders. This was an absolute blunder from start to finish. This was a poorly convinced idea that had bad acting, bad editing, bad sound. It looked like they had tinfoil on the camera to give it a tinted look. It is a mistake to try to look too far ahead. The chain of destiny can only be grasped one link at a time. Saddly, enough this film was missing many chain links as one scene from another transcended into a bad acid trip or like some students decided to get together and make a film and run around in circles. This was the outcome. Either way everything was wrong. The way they filmed it was most distracting. The fight scenes were sloppy, one scene at a beach the lead actor was on his back and the next scene he magically was standing up. Watched this on Amazon, Oh boy this one needs work. If you think it's a good movie you must have your eyes closed during watching. It's a two rated movie for me.

The film The Bastrd Son was like watching a film from the 1980s. The image quality isn't really good but back then you had other factors that made it good. Like a plot. Like action. Like funny lines. None of which this movie had. I watched it on Amazon Prime last night as a friend was in the film. What a mistake.

The only thing I enjoyed was the music but the music did not fit the scenes. There is only one thing I liked about the movie was that in the 2 hour run time I could shut it off and put a good movie on instead. The movie editing looked like it was done in Microsoft paint. Please, please don't watch this. Watch any other movie.

Making a film takes patience and time. This film fell flat on it's face. The editing was rushed, the sound was bad, the quality is not good as it looked like they used tinfoil as a tint. Most scenes you could not see the actors and the sound was so bad it might as well be an episode of Drunk History. If this was a comedy they nailed it. I am afraid it was not a comedy. 1 star for effort. Failure is constructive feedback that tells you to try a different approach to accomplish, they should have looked at editing this differently as well. Some scenes felt rushed and one scene tried to be funny but the only thing funny was the film.

I really enjoyed the showmanship of, "The Bastard Son," character portrayed by new actor Nelson Vazquez. He carried stage presence and emotions into this character which showcased his desire to get even in the film. His work in this film will be remembered. I enjoyed watching this film and saw it live in person --- at the Strand Theatre in Seymour, CT. During the world premiere the audience went crazy as, "The Bastard Son," got even and person after person laid down by his blade. They went crazy meaning they were applauding him for carrying out revenge.

There was a few small things I did not like in the film, however as a whole this movie had a great plot and was not strung out like many movies with the 2 hour run time. Kudos to the cast and crew. I look forward to see more films by Nelson and many of the talented actors in this production.

I wanted to enjoy this film about vengeance out of redemption. The problem was it was distracting with the way it was filmed. The bastard son was impressive in the potential of how he portrayed his character. But it flopped due to bad editing, sound and how the movie was shot. Some scenes are louder than others. It also had a poor attempt to invoke comedy into the movie during a tense moment which I was confused about. The only thing I enjoyed was the acting by The Bastard Son. Everyone else seemed very amateurish like it was friends of friends thrown in the movie at as a courtesy. Or maybe this was a student film.
