As a civilian with many family members and dear friends who served in the military, this documentary series shows you the raw, honest and difficult truth through the eyes of those who served and fought on the frontlines.

Any civilian who takes their freedom for granted, completely unaware of how great life is here in America compared to the Middle East, will quickly change their tune once they see the living hell our troops dealt with for twenty years!

The crushing reality of life, mortality, war, and everything in between is discussed in this riveting, in-depth docuseries.

Although I'm a Canadian NCM, I was heavily involved with the COIN efforts around Khandahar in 2009. This series pretty much sums up the frustration of front line troops trying to get the job done, in an unvarnished straight up manner. I was blown away by how similar my experience was to that described in this documentary series even though I served with another country. Good on you guys for bringing light onto the underlying reasons for why the war lasted so long, with so little to show for it after 20 years and the disgraceful way in which the Afghan war ended. I, like many of my brethren was horrified by the scenes coming out of Kabul and prompted much self reflection on if our efforts there were worth the sacrifice. Although the series is short, it doesn't beat around the bush. I wasn't made by some artsy documentary team searching for deeper meaning in things. It's made by those, I feel, that represent the bulk of the troops that were on the ground and being frustrated at the reality they were living. I want to see more of it. Keep up the good work!

An honest discussion about a 20 year catastrophe from the perspective of the grunts on the ground. The ones doing the work, making things happen, bleeding, dying, killing. Unfiltered, unapologetic, real discussion. No political nonsense just raw honest content. A conversation that needs to be had and should have been had decades ago.

The show is great. Its vets honest opinions on the war and personal experience they had over there. Wish it had longer episodes with more interviews with different people from all periods of the war from the invasion to the fall a Kabul.

These accounts are some of the rawest experiences from combat. I appreciate the truth behind everything, no sugar coating, just to the raw details about what happened over there from the guys on the ground.
