This is OBJECTIVELY a show that should be rated a 7 or above. People crying in the reviews are probably so used to having a super modern show, with super popular actors with perfect accents, and perfect styling and perfect acting etc etc..
Pulling up references of other shows with the same actors is also nonsensical.
I have never seen any of the actors before, to be honest, nor do i watch many UK shows. Watched this one in one session entirely, its fun, its imperfect, love the plot and characters. Crime comedy is the new thing nowadays, and i dont complain. "Only murders in the building" got me hooked on the genre, and i want more and more!
The only thing that was somewhat annoying is that few of the characters dont seem to know how to get a complete sentence out..like ever...so much stuttering going on. But other than that, its a very nice relaxing show that leaves you wanting more. Unless you are one of those 1-5 ratings, triggered by people with accents and 80s fashion.

Good to see the cast of people do nothing teaming up with Tom Davis who steals the show with his strange voiced character. Very little reason for this to be broke into episodes would have worked well as a film an enjoyable caper.
I stumbled on this by accident and gave it a shot, binge watching all episodes. The acting was good in parts and not so in just one, for example, what is with Micks accent? I couldn't understand what he was saying in the first episode, it was so exaggerated that he was almost incomprehensible and mumbling words. That really put me off the series, it may me cringe every time he 'spoke'. It was however great to see the 80's clothes and was such a blast from the past. Would I recommend it? Probably not based on Mick's irritating accent, which is a shame as I love British TV series...
Seeing the PJDN boys in anything will always be worth it for me and likewise normally big Tom Davis but his character's voice in this is terrible can hardly understand him and don't think I laughed once. If you don't know the boys work then I can see this being a bit hard work tbh but their chemistry and timing and the great 80s detail make this worth a watch definitely.
I had too many expectations when I read the cast which is probably why I didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to.
However it is an easy watch with an occasional laugh but not hilarious.
Binge watch it.
Some of the reviews are more funny. One reviewer talks of the 90s. The show is set in the early 80s. Another reviewer appears to have an issue with being PC and has an issue with strong women and people of colour in leading roles.

- TriviaAlthough a work of fiction, The Curse is inspired by real-life events - namely the infamous Brink's-Mat robbery that occurred at the Heathrow International Trading Estate near Heathrow Airport, west London on 26th November 1983. 6 men broke into the Brink's-Mat warehouse expecting to steal £3.2 million in cash but discovered the warehouse contained three tons of gold bullion. The robbers escaped with £26 million worth of gold, diamonds and cash. The so-called Curse of the Brink's-Mat millions refers to the early deaths of a number of people allegedly involved in the laundering of the stolen gold.
