The role was first portrayed by Sir Ian McKellen during the live-action series of the X-Men films and although he was a villain, the world fell in love with him. The actor went on to reprise his role while the character of Magneto grew to larger proportions.

If you’re a fan of Daredevil: Born Again, there are a few shows that are fun to check out!
Fans of Daredevil are loving the return of the Man Without Fear via Daredevil: Born Again. The revival of the Netflix series has Charlie Cox once more playing Matt Murdock and his costumed alter ego in a show that already boasts some wild twists and turns.
Obviously, fans will have likely checked out other Netflix Marvel shows, such as Jessica Jones, The Punisher, The Defenders, and others. Maybe even She-Hulk: Attorney at Law which had Cox guest starring. However, there are a few shows out there that can appeal to Daredevil fans. While some are superhero shows, others are unique takes on a crime saga while also boasting action heroes with a mystical edge. If you love Daredevil: Born Again, make way for these ten shows to feel that same fun vibe!

Singer/actress Sza (Solána Imani Row) recently appeared as Catwoman in State Farm's "Batman vs. Bateman" commercial, and the One of The Days star has now set her sights on another comic book character - and she is certainly aiming high.
Sza appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show and threw her hat in the ring to play one of the most powerful superheroes in Marvel Comics, the X-Men's Ororo Munroe, aka Storm.
"I would love to be a superhero," Sza said when asked if there might be a Marvel or DC role in her future. "[Storm] comes from this whole other place where it's the jungle ... So, I think that would be so gnarly if I could be Storm's origin story."
"My dad collects first-edition comics, so he has the first-edition Thor comics and Silver Surfer just in the basement," she added.

Honest Trailers throws shade at Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. This comes after X-Men '97 got the Honest Trailers treatment in 2024.
The video begins with narrator Jon Bailey conveying that in an age where Marvel's future is uncertain, they can still count on one sure thing, which he professes is "[watching] the exact same Spider-Man story with minor cosmetic adjustments." Later, Bailey avows that in this timeline, Spidey works for Oscorp, his origin story is "just...portals" and everyone's "on their f--king phone."
This is followed by Bailey professing that when Peter Parker becomes Spider-Man, he's like a crime-hating ballerina. Bailey later adds that in a world where Iron Man is "too busy to hang out" and Uncle Ben got "merked off-camera," Peter gets stuck with Norman Osborn as his "bootleg mentor," while Otto Octavis is "flooding the streets of New York with weapons almost as dangerous as a gun, sparking up...

2008-2012 was a great yet frustrating era to be a fan of Marvel cartoons. That brief period of time saw the premiere of some of the very best television that's ever adapted Marvel Comics: "The Spectacular Spider-Man," "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes," and "Wolverine and the X-Men." I both blame and cherish these shows for making me a true Marvel Comics fan.
Yet, all these truly marvelous shows concluded prematurely for infuriating bureaucratic reasons. "Spectacular Spider-Man" ended when Sony ceded some Spider-Man television rights back to Marvel. Meanwhile, "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" was canned to make way for the far inferior (and Marvel Cinematic Universe-synergistic) "Avengers Assemble." Lastly, "Wolverine and the X-Men" never made it to season 2 because the show's financing fell apart.
Series writer-producer Joshua Fine confirmed as much in a 2011 interview. Even worse, season 2 was already in production; it had a season outline,...

Sadie Sink is one of the up-and-coming names in Hollywood’s entertainment industry and she’s already lighting everything on fire. While she has been acting since seven, having kickstarted with local theater productions, the love and fame she has earned since her breakthrough with Stranger Things has only cemented her place further, and she’s only 22.

The upcoming X-Men reboot in the MCU is one of the most highly anticipated projects for fans, as it will officially introduce the iconic mutant team into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, taking over from Fox’s previous X-Men franchise.
While details about the film remain scarce, Marvel Studios is aiming to strike a balance between humor and drama while introducing mutants who have yet to appear in live-action.
It was recently revealed that Michael Lesslie, best known for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, has been tapped to write the script. His strong pedigree makes him a promising choice for the reboot.
Reports suggest that Lesslie pitched a full X-Men ’97-inspired roster for the team. However, rumors indicate that Wolverine may not be included initially, as Hugh Jackman is expected to continue playing the character beyond Secret Wars.

A new report says that some fan-favorite animated Marvel Cinematic Universe characters may be returning for Avengers: Doomsday. The movie will continue exploring the McU's multiverses.
According to a report from The Cosmic Circus, Marvel Studios is exploring ways to bring their animated properties into Avengers: Doomsday, and it's likely to be done in an animated format respective to their original universe, rather than trying to adapt them into live-action. This means that Avengers: Doomsday could have scenes similar to Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and Space Jam, with the animated characters appearing on-screen with the live-action cast.
The report also clarifies that while the animated Loki character Miss Minutes is expected to return for Doomsday, the information is in addition to her interactions on screen, hinting at more animated characters from other Marvel properties. X-Men '97, the well-received revival of X-Men: The Animated Series, rewarded fans with both the strongest writing that Marvel's mutants have received on television in years, as well as the return of many classic voice actors. One such actress is Lenore Zann, who voiced Rogue in the original series. Zann recently discussed the series' upcoming second and third seasons, providing much-anticipated updates.
Speaking with Collider, Zahn revealed that the cast has "finished recording Season 2, and that will be coming out in 2026." Continuing, she also added: "I'm about to start to go into the studio next week to start on season three, so I've got lots to look forward to."
Notably, X-Men '97 creator Beau DeMayo was fired from the production and stripped of his credits on the show. Season 2 onward will feature Matthew Chauncy as showrunner. During the same interview, Zann opened up about her feelings on the new writing team.

Rogue voice actor Lenore Zann touched upon X-Men '97 Season 3. This comes after X-Men '97 got a disappointing Season 2 update.
Zann brought this subject up during an Indiana Comic Convention panel (via Collider), avouching, "I'm about to start to go into the studio next week to start on season three, so I've got lots to look forward to." Putting the spotlight on X-Men '97 itself, ex-showrunner Beau DeMayo delved into how it continues X-Men: The Animated Series' story in 2024, asserting at the time that every design choice was a clue to the storylines the production team was doing and that nothing arbitrary. "[The other reason was to] throw the X-Men back to a time where they're thinking about: What part of this do I want to keep?" he continued. "Was it truly simpler back then, or were we just more naive?"
Besides these bit of news, production head and director Jake Castorena hinted at more Marvel cameos in upcoming episodes,...

X-Men ’97 has proven to be one of the most successful series from the Marvel Universe, being a continuation of the original The Animated Series from the late 1990s. Before it even became the highest-rated Marvel Disney+ series to date, the show had its second season in the works, though this raised questions about the fate of the saga when the showrunner behind it was fired.

Although X-Men ‘97 is now proceeding under the supervision of showrunner Matthew Chauncy, Season 2 isn’t undergoing a major overhaul. Anticipation for X-Men ‘97 was through the roof in the weeks and months leading up to its premiere, but the shocking news that Marvel had fired ex-showrunner, Beau DeMayo not long before its Disney+ debut poured some cold water on the animated series. Less than two months after Season 1 concluded with an epic finale, Marvel tapped Matthew Chauncy to write X-Men ‘97 Season 3, but it was unclear if the new showrunner was going to affect the already-recorded Season 2. Now, during a recent Indiana Comic Convention panel moderated by Collider’s Maggie Lovitt, X-Men ‘97 star Lenore Zann shed some light on where things are at with the series.

Jacques Audiard’s “Emilia Pérez,” the embattled musical crime thriller about gender confirmation, was the surprise Feature Dramatic Editing winner, Friday night at the 75th annual Ace Eddie Awards (held at UCLA’s Royce Hall).
Besting such contenders as “Conclave” and “Dune: Part Two,” “Emilia Pérez” editor Juliette Welfling cut against the start and stop rhythms of traditional musicals with sequences that flowed naturally from dialogue to musical moments in this operatic fever dream, starring Best Supporting Oscar winner Zoe Saldaña and controversial Best Actress nominee Karla Sofía Gascón.
In addition, Jon M. Chu’s maximalist “Wicked” musical beat out Sean Baker’s Oscar-winning “Anora” in the comedy category. Wicked, Emilia Pérez, The Wild Robot, Will & Harper and Road House took the film prizes at the delayed 2025 Ace Eddie Awards, which were handed out Friday night at UCLA’s Royce Hall. Shōgun, Baby Reindeer, What We Do in the Shadows and Frasier were among the TV winners at American Cinema Editors’ 75th anniversary ceremony. See the full list below.
The Eddies were postponed from the original January 18 date as Los Angeles suffered through the wildfires that devastated much of the region. The ceremony went from its usual black-tie, red carpet event to a “Come as You Are” community-building fundraiser, with a portion of ticket sales being donated to fire relief.
Universal’s Wicked won the Eddie for Best Edited Comedy Theatrical Film, Netflix’s Emilia Pérez took the Drama Theatrical Prize, and Universal/DreamWorks’ The Wild Robot uploaded Animated Feature. Wicked and Emilia Pérez also were nominated for Best...

"Castlevania: Nocturne" is a masterpiece of animation. The Powerhouse Animation Studios series combines stunning visuals and kinetic action with poignant script work, complex themes and characters, and vast worldbuilding that leaves you wanting to see more of its universe. It's also a continuation of creator Warren Ellis and producer Adi Shankar's already hugely popular and successful "Castlevania," itself both a phenomenal TV show and an all-time great video game adaptation.
Indeed, we're living at a time when more video games are being re-imagined for film and television than ever before. Not only that, but these projects are also no longer surefire failures. That's especially the case with animation, which is the medium where video game adaptations tend to shine the most. (There's a reason the only "perfect" ones on Rotten Tomatoes are animated.) As such, anticipation tends to be high nowadays whenever a new video game-turned animated TV show starts moving forward.

Sadie Sink has been cast in the next Spider-Man movie and the options for her role are plentiful!
Fans are eager for Spider-Man 4, which should be a new direction for the Wall-Crawler in the MCU. Following the events of 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, the world has forgotten Peter Parker's secret identity, including best friends Mj and Ned. Thus, Peter (Tom Holland) is starting out as more of a Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
The plot details are tight, yet it's now confirmed that Sadie Sink will be joining the new movie. The actress is best known for her breakout role as Max on Netflix's hit Stranger Things and showed her acting chops in 2022's The Whale.
Adding her is intriguing, although there's a natural debate about who she could be playing. Speculation is high, so here's a rundown of the top suspects Sink could be playing in Spider-Man 4,...

Things are about to get "crazy" on Netflix with the April release of Devil May Cry. The anime TV adaptation of the popular Capcom series released a brand-new trailer, revealing more of its story and celebrated voice cast.
In anticipation of its upcoming release, Netflix debuted a new full-length trailer for Devil May Cry on its official YouTube channel. The nearly two-minute trailer -- set to Papa Roach’s "Last Resort" -- showcased the over-the-top action sequences one would expect from Devil May Cry, alongside the introductions of fan-favorite characters. The White Rabbit is seemingly trying to usher in a new world order dominated by demons, unless the young devil hunter Dante meets with him first. Dante, of course, would never turn down an invitation to a party, especially one as exciting as this.

The original G.I. Joe toyline was conceived in 1963 by designer Stanley Weston and was meant to serve as a more "masculine" counterpart to the female dolls designed for girls. Indeed, the word "doll" was used by marketers to describe babies or dress-up miniature women, not soldiers or men of action. Hasbro came up with the term "action figure" to refer to its G.I. Joes, and the term stuck. For several generations, children's toys were heavily gendered along those lines, with "girl" toys encouraging motherhood, domesticity, and fashion, while "boy" toys encouraged combat and violence.
By 1982, the G.I. Joe brand had become moribund and was in need of a sprucing up. A new line of toys was launched under the new name G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero. These figures were only 3.75 inches high (the older ones were 12 inches) and were composed of 11 cartoony characters. They were American soldiers ... kind of.

Spoiler Alert !!!This article contains major spoilers for Invincible.
The casualty list for the Invincible War was long. A slew of notable heroes in the world of Invincible fell in the battle against Angstrom Levy’s army of Marks, among them Rex Splode, voiced to perfection by Jason Mantzoukas. The character died taking out another one of Mark’s variants that had taken on and almost decimated the Teen Team, right when he had his life turning around for the better with Shrinking Rae.

There has been some consensus among fans about how Invincible the show failed to deliver on the much-needed gravitas during Rex’s death, going so far as to remove the reaction that Mark had after initially learning about the death of the character from the comics. While his death, much like Remy LeBeau’s in X-Men ’97, had fans distraught,...

Superheroes thrive in animation. The medium is uniquely positioned to capture the visual possibilities and sheer imagination of comic books without having to compromise anything. It's the reason the highest-rated superhero show of all time on IMDb is a cartoon. As we have seen time and time again, from the masterpiece that is "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" to the gripping drama of "X-Men '97," animation can serve these stories in a way that live-action can't.
Still, that doesn't mean every effort is a home run. For every "Batman: The Animated Series," there's a "Batman Unlimited." While the '90s saw plenty of masterful cartoons based on superheroes, even Marvel ones with "X-Men: The Animated Series" and "Spider-Man," there was still something missing — The Avengers. So, in the late '90s, Fox Kids decided to fix this grave mistake and create an Avengers cartoon. Before the show could get greenlit, however,...

The X-Men are Marvel’s Mightiest Mutants, but none of them are mightier than Magneto. Perhaps the most powerful of all mutants, Erik Lehnsherr made his first appearance in the comics in 1963 and he has endured the test of time, remaining of the most widely-recognized X-Men characters to this day.
It’s not surprising when there are adaptations in the mainstream quite regularly, from the original X-Men movie series to the recent Disney Plus series X-Men ’97, he’s been at the forefront of many of the classic characters’ most well-known adventures. And his powers – and the drive behind them – continue to captivate audiences.
Magneto is a complicated individual, which makes him a powerful character in many senses of the word. He has the ability to manipulate and move metal with his mind, controlling magnetic fields all around him with ease. He's a longtime enemy of the X-Men, as well...

Daredevil: Born Again arrived on Disney+, ushering in a new chapter for the Man Without Fear on Disney+. Whereas Daredevil Season 2 introduced The Punisher and Elektra, Daredevil: Born Again's two-episode premiere introduces The White Tiger.

In addition, Walt Disney Animation is scrapping all development plans for content on Disney+. Walt Disney Animation joins Pixar Animation, Marvel Studios, and Lucasfilm as divisions of the Walt Disney Company that are focusing less on streaming projects and reinvesting their energy in theatrical films, a far cry from where the studio was just five years ago.

When it comes to the X-Men, it doesn't get bigger - or better - than Wolverine. As Logan himself said in Deadpool and Wolverine, he is the X-Man. The truth is that when the vast majority of us think about Marvel's Mightiest Mutants, "Wolvie" is the first one that comes to mind - and that really says a lot about his popularity because he's technically not even the leader of the iconic team.
There is a lot to love about the character, even if you have to look beyond his gruff exterior. Renowned for his monosyllabic conversations, perpetual bad mood, adamantium skeleton and razor sharp claws, Logan has endured over the years to become not just one of the most popular Marvel Comics characters of all time, but one of the biggest pop-culture phenomenons in history.
That's largely due to how successfully has has translated to other mediums, particularly TV and film.

After a long seven-year absence from the small screen, the tough and resilient Matt Murdock will once again be kicking butt and taking names as the blind masked vigilante in the long-awaited revival series Daredevil: Born Again. Charlie Cox reprises his role as the famous Hell's Kitchen lawyer with superhuman senses in epic fashion. The beloved hero finds himself being pulled back into his former life as a crime fighter when his powerful nemesis, Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, decides to run for mayor of New York City.
The show will feature a slew of familiar faces returning to the fan-favorite franchise, including Vincent D'Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, and Jon Bernthal, and the first season is set to make its highly-anticipated premiere on March 4, 2025 on Disney+. Judging by the rip-roaring trailer that was recently released for the revival, audiences are in for quite the treat when Murdock and the rest of the gang officially join the MCU.

The wait for Daredevil: Born Again is nearly over. It has been seven years since Netflix decided to cancel the critically acclaimed Daredevil series after three seasons in 2018. Many fans felt that would be the end for Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock / Daredevil and Vincent D'Onforio's Wilson Fisk / The Kingpin, leaving their story unresolved and the MCU lacking two of its biggest comic book characters. Fast forward seven years later, and there have been various guest spots between Cox and D'Onforio across MCU titles like Spider-Man: No Way Home, Hawkeye, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and Echo. Now, the two will lead their own series with Daredevil: Born Again.

X-Men ‘97 was one of last year’s breakout hits, tapping into the nostalgia of the original series, while also modernizing it and adapting it with great success. Unfortunately, it has disappointingly been announced that fans still have a while to wait before Season 2 gets here.
Per ComicBook.com, Marvel’s head animation honcho, Brad Winderbaum, has confirmed that the acclaimed series won’t be returning for its sophomore season until 2026. "Season 2 of X-Men ’97 is going to be in ’26. We’re working on it now. It’s exciting," explained Winderbaum, who is the Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation at Marvel. The news comes as a tremendous disappointment to fans, as it means they will have to wait nearly two full years for the resolution to Season 1’s cliffhangers.
