With only 5 episodes having aired so far, I'm already having trouble thinking of another show that rivals this quality lately. And I'm not exclusively talking about in animation either.
The animation is stunning. The characters are maybe even more endearing than ever. And the story is so incredibly meaningful and masterfully explored that I was engaged to the point of audible gasping, chills, and even tears at times.
I personally watch a lot of shows, animated and non. Disney has done plenty of fantastic shows, from Gargoyles to Gravity Falls. Yet I was still surprised by this revival existing at all, and blown away by its handling.

I know it's only been 2 episodes and a 10/10 may be ambitious but I can't express how satisfied I am with this!
Recently, us nerds have had our hopes built up by reboots and live-action remakes that left us feeling betrayed and disappointed. Finally, X-Men 97 delivers!
I'm so happy they kept this kid friendly so my generation can enjoy it with our kids.
So far, the show is exactly like you remember it from your Saturday mornings. Nostalgia ensued within the first second.
I can't wait to see what this show brings us. My only complaint is that they didn't release the entire series immediately but I don't think Disney+ does that.
Thank you Chris Claremont! Well done Disney!

The nostalgia hit hard, but it was more than just a trip down memory lane. The writing and character development in these initial episodes were on point, adding layers to the already rich world of the X-Men. It felt like catching up with old friends who had grown and evolved.
What impressed me the most was how "X-Men '97" managed to capture the same feels of the original show while also elevating the storyline in just two episodes. As someone who watched the original series as a kid, I was beyond amazed to see how it was modernized while still paying respect to the og source material.
This show has reignited my love for these mutants and their struggles, and I have no doubt that it will continue to deliver the action, drama, and heart that fans have come to expect from the X-Men universe.
Bring on the next episode!

Had decent expectations as the original series is a classic (for me). This is a continuation but doesn't suffer from any particular issues usually seen when a production is revived after a long time. If anything, this revival exudes welcome nostalgia while fusing modern touches. Animation is solid and the action pieces are the highlights. Voice acting is just as awesome as it used to be (no irritating voice characterizations). Not to spoil anything but the characters are, as always, as real as could be to the original print comics. Am stoked and hope this series goes on for as long as it can. 9/10 from me for episode 1. Vinaka from Fiji.

Longtime fans will delight in seeing their favorite mutants back in action, while newcomers will be drawn in by the rich mythology and complex relationships that define the X-Men universe. - TriviaKevin Feige had only two conditions for the show.
- 1.) The original X-Men (1992) voice-cast had to return.
- 2.) The rights for the theme tune of X-Men (1992) had to be obtained.
- GoofsThe name of the series contains a typo (purposefully or otherwise): what should be an apostrophe is, instead, a single open-quotation mark. The font makes the distinction somewhat subtle on the main title screen, though the error is very clear in the end credits, which use a different font.
The typo may be purposeful on the part of the showrunners, to reflect this common autocorrect error in the 1990s, wherein word processors would see the punctuation following a space and assume it meant the beginning of a quotation within a quotation. (It would be not surprising if the typo were purposeful, given the show's theme of Man vs. Machine. Additionally, while the same "autocorrect fail" is still common to this day, there may be a nostalgic quality crafted by intentionally committing the error here.)
It is noteworthy that some streaming interfaces correct some instances of the typo. For example, on some applications that run Disney+, pausing the show presently shows the apostrophe right-side-up.
