Conversations with Lucifer is an intimate film that explores the struggles of a recovering addict, Darby, on the verge of falling off the wagon. Darby is beautifully portrayed by Shevaun Kastl - also the writer of the short. Her nuanced performance lends itself to the realism of an addict's struggle to recovery, adding to the authenticity of the performance.
Addiction and recovery are never easy topics to explore and can fall into the terrible trap of melodrama. Conversations with Lucifer stays clear of the usual clichés. And with the introduction of Lucifer - an unexpected twist is brought to the film.
Director, Cody Boesen expertly crafted a film that leaves the audience wanting more.

I enjoyed watching Conversations with Lucifer. I think addiction is such a tough thing to go through but this film captures the struggle without being completely depressing, as I have seen done in other films with this subject matter. Although it is a short drama, I found it to be a thorough story with comedic relief. It was well done and Shevaun Kastl is a fantastic actress, and plays the character Darby Quinn, beautifully. She plays the entire range of emotions that come with recovery and she does so in a very natural and real way. You will definitely find yourself rooting for Darby to succeed. I am impressed. I highly recommend you see it soon!
Conversations with Lucifer resonated deeply with me as an eye awakening look into a world too often ignored or downplayed as weakness in our society - addiction.
Shevaun's portrayal of Darby brought to light the humanity within all of us, no matter our struggles.
This gritty and true to life story taught me many lessons and did it with an entertaining flair and voice unique to Shevaun and her abundant talents as a storyteller.
I've shared this movie with many of my friends and family and look forward to more of Shevaun's work.

Incredible writing and acting by Shevaun Kastl. The short film Conversations with Lucifer made me take a closer look at my life and the lives of those close to me. I was very moved by the truth of it, that life is ridiculous for everyone and we all need to evaluate ourselves and strive to be the best we can. People can make mistakes, but the character of a person shows through their strength in perseverance. I would recommend this film to anyone who has ever felt the pressure of life weighing down on them or fell victim to their own vices provoked by circumstances beyond their control. This film took me on a wonderful journey to which I would like to return. I look forward to viewing future work by the talented Shevaun Kastl.
This is a fantastic film. The movie has a deep plot that is filled with events that happen to a woman who has experienced a tragic event that she is unable to cope with in a positive manner. The movie is about self destructive behavior, addiction and blame. Shevaun's acting is superb in every manner. Her outfits are detailed to the time period. Her beauty is never taken away from her even when she is at her lowest point. This is a movie that all who have an unfortunate event in their life should see. The settings reflect the detail of what happened once before in another time period but are relevant today. The 1940's cars hair styles, clothing and household furnishings are so detailed that it makes you feel you have traveled back in time.
