A very touching father and son story

It's so very lucky i saw the movie at the festival and i liked it so much. My impromptu reactions are as follows:

Kudos to the filmmaker (it is an excellent piece of work: the story itself, its treatment of the subject, the music and a non-judgmental approach which allows a viewer to pose a multitude of questions and realize a complexity of it all.

    Kudos to the cinematographer

The story is more than complex; the top question that comes to mind is the father's role full of complexity and contradictions; what would someone else do under the circumstances; what motivates the father: is it love? Is it pragmatism? Perhaps it is both? Is he selfish or selfless?

The relationship between the father and son is also the one that makes one task many questions namely: Should he discuss the son's limitation and future prospects in his presence? What does it do to the boy's psyche?

Having asked it, my friend comes to mind who said that without his father's tyrannical treatment he would have not achieved what he did; What makes a child balanced? Is making a son an accomplished Go master, and ignoring his general education, is the way to go?

In sum, as you can see by my reflections, the documentary is richly though-provoking as a good documentary is. I hope it will get recognition as, in my opinion, it deserves so.
