Worst movie I ever saw in my life.

This is a terrible movie. If it cost more that 50 cents to make then they were ripped off. I've seen porn movies with better acting and filming. It looks like the actors are reading off of cue cards, special effects are pretty much non existent. I think my dog could have written better dialogue than what's up there. I don't think this movie would make any sense if you got majorly hammered before watching it. Please don't waste your time unless your in an institution and have nothing else to watch because you can't change the channel. I mean I wasn't expecting an Academy Award winner, but it should be way better than this. And if you watch it after reading this, well can't say you weren't warned. 'nuff said

The best film I've ever seen that was made in Berea, Kentucky!

"Santa Claus Versus the Zombies" is obviously a terrible movie and the filmmakers don't even attempt to make a great film. It just looks like some friends got together and decided to make a movie even though they had no business doing so! Further proof that the movie didn't try to be high art is clearly the title of the film! But, is this film worth seeing? After all, sometimes bad films can be fun to watch--especially with a group of friends. In other words, is it bad but good or just plain bad?

The film starts on Christmas in a household full of folks who seem very ill-matched. There is the rich and obnoxious part of the family and the nice part of the family who, inexplicably, chooses to hang out with these jerks. Soon, however, this tender moment is interrupted when zombies arrive and eat Grandpa and Grandma--and now at least two of the jerks are out of the way! Among the non-eaten is an actor paid to play Santa as well as two actor elves. However, through the course of the film, it seems that PERHAPS Santa and one of the elves MIGHT just be real and they help the survivors to somehow make it out alive--even though they look NOTHING like Santa or an elf! In the meantime, the country is a mess and the President is meeting with his soldiers in a room that looks like someone's rec room (which it probably is). Can the President and his incredibly nuke-crazy general somehow help this family in crisis? And, why would the President care about the fate of seven folks when a zombie epidemic is taking the nation?! Well, regardless why, in the end he personally leads a rescue mission!

Everything about this film is bad--particularly the acting. Most of the folks, I am sure, are not actors but folks the writer/director George Bonilla recruited to appear in the super-low budget flick. The soldiers are often extremely obese or sport ponytails simply because Bonilla's friends were probably the only people he could afford. As far as their acting goes, it rarely was very good. Having crappy dialog didn't help any. Yet, despite all this, cheap sets and a plot that makes little sense, it all is strangely entertaining. It's not good, but did make me laugh occasionally because the film had little pretense--it KNEW it was bad and didn't care! Plus, a few times it actually was clever (such as the end where Santa stops the zombie attack by inviting the creatures to sit on his lap and tell him what they want for Christmas). Think of this as a film made by a few friends that inexplicably ended up on DVD and is somehow available through places like Amazon.com! Overall, this is a fun but stupid film--just the sort of thing that would make a nice addition to a rotten Christmas movie marathon--one that should also include films like "Santa Claus Versus the Martians", "Santa With Muscles", "Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny" as well as the Mexican film, "Santa Claus" (where the jolly guy battles Satan!). It's terrible...but also terribly funny.

    A Masterpiece of Filmmaking!

Never before have I seen a movie that captures the true magic of Christmas quite as well as this. Nor have I ever seen a movie with a more frightening threat than the zombies in this masterpiece. The experience of watching it is unlike any other, it will take you through a roller coaster of emotions. I laughed, I cried, I even peed a little. The acting is completely unmatched, especially that of the one and only Luke Seals, who's work here will never be topped. The room broke into full applause as soon as Mr. Seals appeared for his 2.3 seconds of screen-time. My only complaint with the film is that, at some points the CGI is a little too good, I'm worried that the effects on display here will intimidate up in coming filmmakers from ever attempting to challenge this juggernaut. I think it could potentially cause the entire film industry to collapse. But was it worth it? Absolutely!

    Ho, Ho, Ho-wful

I saw the DVD cover on Amazon and I thought "Why not? It may be fun!". I wasn't able to watch the entire flick, that's how crappy it is. There is absolutely nothing to save in this wreck of a "movie": the story is completely lame (Long story short, it's Night Of The Living Dead on Christmas Day), the acting is one of the most laughable I've ever seen (including some German gore flicks like Ittenbach's Premutos or Black Past, for example. Even those aren't as badly played as in here), the ... Errrr... "SFX" doesn't even deserve the name of "special effects" (the zombies make-up is incredible: they just look like dirty people most of the time, the storm of the beginning made me laugh my ass off). Oh, and if you wanna know, the story is about some lame family who is celebrating Christmas on a Summer day (never saw so much sun on Christmas Day...) with a team of actors playing Santa and a few elves, there's a storm incoming and a fight between the father of the family and his in-laws. The father throw them out and WHAT's THAT? A ZOMBIE ATTACK! Half an hour later, I've turned the movie off and gave it to a friend who likes this kind of crap. too bad I couldn't gave a big bad 0, it really deserves it. 15€ for crap, just perfect for Christmas!

Protein-Starved Zombies-on Christmas Day No Less!

When I purchased this movie a couple of years ago--along with 7 other zombie films in a collection called "Extreme Zombies 8 Movie Collection"--I had hoped for one or two passable movies out of the lot. A "diamond in the rough" so to speak. Unfortunately, "Santa Claus Versus the Zombies" is definitely not one of them. Essentially, a family is celebrating Christmas and the wealthy grandfather named "Dick Richards" (Russ Croley) has taken it upon himself to hire a man to act as "Santa Claus" (Billy W. Blackwell) along with three of his elves in order to liven up the traditional Christmas dinner. Unfortunately, it's at this time that a brand new diet drug begins to show terrible side effects which basically renders those who take it into protein-starved zombies-on Christmas day no less! And there are millions of Americans taking this drug. It gets so bad that even the President of the United States has to hunker down in a bunker surrounded by military troops to keep safe. So when the news gets out that Santa Claus is trapped in a house surrounded by zombies, "President Moore" (Tony Armstrong) decides to rescue him at all costs! Now, I must admit that I am not typically a fan of "Zom-Coms" (Zombie-Comedies) and films like this are a big reason for it. Frankly, there just aren't that many good ones out there. Although the first 30 minutes or so had some promise it proceeded to go downhill very quickly after that. As a matter of fact, other than the presence of Kayla Perkins (as "Randy") and possibly Alex Del Monacco ("Jennifer") there really wasn't much worth seeing. In short, this film is about as cheap as it gets and not worth spending too much time viewing. I have rated it accordingly.
