    A charming short animation

I saw the set for this film in Bradford Media Museum, and thought it and it's story line seemed quite enchanting. As far as I know it can be viewed on Youtube at this moment in time, but shorts like this often go into obscurity when they aren't popular enough to be remembered by masses of people.

The tag-line for this film is not of much use, as to call it 'a magical journey about relationships and what it is to be human' is, for me, a slight exaggeration, but I suppose the idea is that the hyperbolic nature will draw viewers towards the animation. In some ways, it is magical. The film itself is a fantasy, and shows a focus on space and planets in order to link it to astronomy, but it is not particular extraordinary. Sweet is a much better term, as the short is only 5 minutes long (I am aware that's the point of the word 'short', however, not much of a journey is made in this small amount of time), so the story line is not completely clear or put together. Despite this, I found it quite simple to gather the plot and what was happening by the end of the animation, if only leaving one or two questions unanswered, but that isn't necessarily a fault.

Although the time period was short, the film was still emotive and delved deep enough to make the watcher feel empathy for the characters. If I were to make a tag-line for this film, it would be: 'A charming animation that explores feelings of loss, love and sacrifice'.

I would advise you to watch this film, it is something that of course, is worth living without, but if you live having seen it, makes life that little bit more pleasant.

    It is never too late

Ben and Keith (The Two Gay Geeks) who screened this short at the first Phoenix Loves Sci- Fi Film Festival along with 20 other shorts. This was one of the ones they chose as a standout among the crowd. This short was part of the second block of films we screened and is easily on of the better shorts screened during the evening. This short, in addition to the others we screened, are amazing. Keith originally thought this was stop motion photography. It was very well done and had a great emotional payoff. Ben's thoughts: One of the most poignant, if not tragic, shorts of the evening. This beautifully digitally animated film looks as if it could have been done with stop motion, and simply tells the story of man with his mechanical bear on a search for his father who was lost to him as a young boy. It was artistically beautiful with a somewhat sad ending. The art of filmmaking is clearly alive and well based on what we saw here, and we look forward to seeing more from this talented filmmaker in the years to come.
