To hell with stupid traditions and customs. Traditions here is all about drugs! I love watching Murat's series but, I totally hate the role he played here. No empathy, total disregard for marriage. So its okay for a man to cheat on his wife, have a child out of wedlock while his wife sits at home feeling hopeless miserable and unloved. What was wrong with her having her own car and a bit of freedom. I also detest Yasemi's jealousy of cikcek. Cicek is the only victim in this drama. This is a pure double standard of how marriage should be in this modern world we live in. This shows portrays infidelity. Shows like this should never be encouraged in this modern society we live in today. Like other reviewers wrote, this love story to me is not believable and the only person being punished here is Cicek. They both know that what they're doing is wrong and being caught on camera by paparazzi worried them so much that they had to stop the story from being published. Cicek's dad is a bully who should be thrown off the bridge or even drugged with the poison he sells. Everything about the show is morally wrong. This drama should have been titled "infidelity " Yasemi's mum should stop her meddling and look for something useful to do. What sort of a mother encourages her daughter to hide her son from his father for a year! Is this also called traditions? Yes it's an arranged marriage however I have never seen any married man flaunt his mistress in front of his wife and even proposes to her without divorcing his wife. Guys come on let's be realistic here!
It's a low budget production but boy, who cares?! The story is compelling, though it draws on a bit long. The wait is worth it!
My first Turkish series was The End. Then, I watched Ezel and fell in love with it. The series had everything, romance, betrayal, vengeance, great script, and scenery was fantastic! After that, there were more... too much to name! All of them great. What a difference with US series where some only shot in a studio.
The production of this show made it difficult to watch. The entire series looks as if filmed with a handheld camera. The initial storyline is also a little troublesome, as it does not lay a solid foundation for the type of love story relationship you would expect in a drama. Setting these problems aside, the actors in this series make up for the poor filming and editing as well as the initial bond missing between the main characters (Savas and Yasemin). The leads (Murat and Nurgul) are well matched and Murat Yildirim does a stellar job as the tenderhearted Savas Baldar. Tomris Incer who plays Savas' mother is a shining star in this show. Murat Yildirim and Tomris Incer's acting anchors the series and make it worth watching until the end.
I watched Season 1 on Netflix with English subtitles. Am eager to see when Season 2 is on Netflix. The actors are very convincing. The plots are complicated so I can't guess how things will get resolved which makes for continual suspense. I like international series because the scenes and locations are set up with a lot of care and detail, variety, and photographic beauty. I also like the scripts in international series such as this one because sometimes they are exceptionally poignant, heartfelt and wise. The scripts and story lines are always well written and well developed, and I believe the English subtitles are excellent.
