First of all: Rest in peace Ray, you did good, as always.
That Larry character: it's some serious acting there. If that is'nt emmyworth acting i Don't know what is. I recommend to watch series called kingdom(not that famous one, i mean that series what came 2014-2017) he is so good in that series.
Not the Best prisondrama what i have seen but definately a decent one.

After having seen the whole miniseries, I'd say that the plot problems could be explained by this show being based on real life. I'd assumed that it was a fictionalized version of true events, but if the following really did happen, then the cops prevailed only by sheer luck.
-The FBI did not prevent Jimmy's dad from screwing up the operation. They could have told the warden simply to not let anyone visit Jimmy. Or they could have brief Jimmy's dad on what not to blab loud enough for everyone to hear. You'd think an ex-cop would be a bit more discreet.
-When Carter first started threatening Jimmy, why didn't he go to the shrink/FBI lady/warden and tell them to fire Carter for endangering the operation.
-Why didn't Carter worry that he would be fired for endangering an operation was obviously an operation backed by the warden?
-Why wouldn't the FBI pay $10K to prevent a civilian from being murdered, who they had coerced into a dangerous situation? When Jimmy's parents sued the FBI, they could be on the hook for millions.
-Was this operation really so badly managed that the shrink went on vacation and didn't bring his replacement up to speed? If she wasn't trustworthy enough to fill in on all the details, he could have at least made it clear he wasn't a "regular" prisoner. Figure it out, lady.
-How did anyone think Larry's vague map of burial locations would be any use to anyone?
-How did Jimmy re-create the map from memory? Nobody said he had a photographic memory.
-What about the apparently forgotten detail that Larry was at a Civil War re-enactment during one of the murders? Was there a second killer on the loose and nobody bothered to check?
Anyway the acting saves it. And if this is really based on real life then most of the foregoing is just the stuff that happens in real life, rather than weak writing that hinges on characters being incompetent.

So emotional, Jimmy wanted to be a huge help to help the families, It shows that he's a good person now, also the only one who saw "The real Larry" he didn't want to let a monster out of prison.. and he did his best!

Bravo Dennis Lehane!
Predictably Lehane puts together yet another fantastic piece of film, the entire series is fantastic. All facets of production are top-notch, the writing and dialog is as good as anything that has aired in years. The score and musical production magnifies every facet of the series, truly special. All the actors were well cast, and all hit their marks, the back and forth between Egerton and Hauser is an absolute highlight. What truly makes this series work, the pacing and edit. Six episodes was absolutely the perfect amount to tell this story, so many miniseries stretch out thier content to fill 8, or 10, episodes and it destroys the pace of the series, not here though. The series is very, very similar to The Night Of, the best comparison I can think of, and about as good as dramatized true crime can get.
Great episode, satisfying conclusion to a dark and absolutely compelling drama.
