Loved the 1st season, changed a lot afterwards

This showed revolved around Tatyana Ali character who worked for her father at a real estate brokerage, while also dealing with her funny inspiring comedian brother. Season 2 Tatyana's left the show and was replaced by Reagan Gomez and the show started revolving more around break out star Bresha Webb who played ImUnique. This show had the bones to at least give us two more seasons but just didn't make it. It was also produced by the same executive producer who did Martin and also executive produced by Martin Lawrence himself a few episodes. This is definitely a show I wouldn't mind seeing rebooted. It had somewhat that same comedic element possessed and touched on that time popular black pop-culture.

They really need to revamp this show!

I love Bentley Kyle Evans the producer. He has had success in producing shows for Martin Lawrence and Jamie, Foxx and I was hopeful that he would do the same for this show. Tatyana Ali and Phil Morris who plays her father on the show are good actors, have great comedic timing and star quality. Unfortunately the supporting actors they have cast on show are not as good. They all seem to overact, are not endearing and do not seem to have that star quality that will cause them to grow on you at some point except maybe Alphonso McAuley. I have seen him do good work on the movies Pride, Glory Road and Fat Albert. 1 really had high hopes for this show when I first found out about it but unless they swap out some of the supporting cast, I just don't see it making it. I really do hope they get it together.

    Needs Help

Not to much to say, all the other reviewers are right on point. The deliver of the punchlines are not good and the writing could be much better. The gay guys are over the top and she needs another job. I think if she owned her own company would be a better fit for her. The father's assistant goes over the top. The ghetto secretary has already been done in Sisters. Maybe another co-worker who works in the firm would help. I did enjoy the different blacks actors from other shows popping in playing certain characters. The show concept is great needs work. Keep Tatyana and the brother just give them better writing. Like a going out of business sale everybody else must go.

Terrible, from season 1 to 3

This is show is so bad I'm waiting for cancellation. Hoping for it. My rating is actually -1, but the website doesn't allow for it. The acting is mediocre and the writing is worse. I like Reagan Gomez from her days in the show Parenthood but she should leave and go to something better. Phil Morris too. The jokes are not funny. The story lines are not good at all. I know that reality TV has taken over almost everything, but we really need to bring back great sitcoms like the ones from the 70s through the Mid-2000s. Shows like Good Times, Amen, The Jeffersons, 227, A Different World, Martin, Living Single, the Bernie Mac show, Girlfriends, the Game, the Steve Harvey Show, The DL Hughley show, Eve, Roc, I could go on and on. Those were real black sitcoms that were great. I know that we are missing people of color in scripted shows from the small screen, but this show is simply not good, plain and simple.

    No love for "that girl"

I really wanted to "love that girl." I used to like Tatyana Ali on the Fresh Prince, and when I found out it was going to be co-produced by Martin, I thought that surely it would be funny.

    I was so wrong.

While Tatyana is funny, she is not hilarious enough to carry the whole show as a comedy. She would need a phenomenal supporting cast to provide a lot of the comedy, which unfortunately, she doesn't have. The characters are frankly, not funny. They're also flat. I don't know much about them and I really don't care to. The gay guy friends are over-the- top stereotypical and more annoying than funny. The "comedian" out of work brother, the ghetto receptionist and the dad all are uninteresting. Worst of all, the girl who plays her best friend. Eeesh...maybe she's a great actress in other roles, but the character/writing isn't working for her.

I'm putting a lot of focus on bad casting choices but I think the writing is awful too. Can't they take a cue from other classic shows on TVone like "Martin" and "Living Single" to understand the kind of writing and characters work for a show? The only way I see this show making it past season 1 is if "that girl" makes some new friends, kicks her brother out and changes jobs...

Also, the introduction of the show bothers me. What is up with the 60's theme music and flowers. Is Tatyana Ali's character a hippie? Nope. Does the show take place in the 60's? Nope. Imagine staring "Martin" with a 1950's Doo-Wop song... it just doesn't make sense!
