Poppy Playtime

Ever since FNAF the recent term "Mascot Horror" has been thrown around for years now. It's predecessor, Bendy and the Ink Machine, was an amazing and original game with an exciting and intriguing sequel. "Poppy Playtime" seemed like just another one of these FNAF-inspired games; until this game. The quaility, hype, production, and character design that was seen in it's past games tripled, and you can tell alot of love and support was put into this one. From Miss Delight's mechanic and jumpscare to CatNap's backstory and design, it's hard to belive that this is an indie game at all. Never before has such gore and viscera been included in a Mascot Horror game. This is a must-play and is going to shape the way people think of Mascot Horror.

The third dlc of the popular indie horror video game Poppy Playtime turned out to be a great surprise for yours truly. With a good narrative following a plot full of dark secrets, perfect exploration, disturbing atmospheres and interested enemies this additional content won me over from the beginning. But it is not all perfect in fact its biggest flaw is the little presence of the main antagonist (CatNap) in the game and some bugs I encountered during gameplay. Compared to before I start to see a good future for this saga and even if they haven't given us the "masterpiece" yet Mob Games is on the right track to create something even more mammoth. I hope they will make a four chapter superior to this one because I can't wait to play it.

"Poppy Playtime: Chapter 4" marked with its release a new remarkable piece to the lore of the PPU or as called "Poppy Playtime Universe".

Its big announcements, marketing and hopes promised a dark and really good game but in fact, it has gotten some small fragments mistakes that require a lot of charm to not be seen as "problematic mistakes".

The game itself delivers a huge turn in their franchise from the big childish factory style to a dark metaphor for hopelessness.

As Poppy and the main Character continue searching on for contributing their fate to revenge they meet new friends and allies gaining their fate within.

But although the game itself brings a lot of storytelling, it requires a big amount of performance updates.

It's clear to say after playing the game for just more than 30 minutes, it is packed with a lot of bugs and glitches. Those themself make the game almost unplayable and they turn it into a unwatchable session of mess.

Hard critic might some say. The best thing the makers of the game should have done was delaying it at least for some days after to solve the problems but they didn't.

They wanted to release it - but that's okay.

Despite all the complaints about bugs and glitches, the game also delivers a really heartbreaking experience for individuals and does what it should be doing.

Do NOT play this.

It is just a shameless ripoff of other,better indie horror games and has no essence or spirit.

The community around the game is awful(I for the most part do not believe that a community can really downgrade a game's quality but this is an exception) ,it is just children and I believe that is by design. I think the game is made to be a popular souless merch quick cash grab for the developers.

I do not even know how this got so popular in 2022,there is absolutely nothing good about the game and I feel very sorry for everyone who bought this digital garbage,even other bad horror games are better than this In conclusion,this falls right in the rubbish bin of indie horror games along with the garden of BanBan and other trash trying to be like their more successful counterparts like Fnaf and Bendy.

This game and the people behind it fell off spectacularly in a way I couldn't have imagined. The company behind it is effectively a minecraft mascot horror animation content farm, with people behind it that actively rip on other content creators that try to do things that are similar, to the point of making entire youtube channels about it. The game itself was kinda obviously made to be a merchandising cash cow, with plushes, merch, and nft's galore. The game uses the chapter format first seen in bendy and the ink machine, in which both first chapters are effectively demos to show what the rest of the game may look like, and feature a 2nd chapter in which you go further down into the games setting, with a new antagonist that is different from the antagonist of the first. BatIM does this much better, as it's much more stylized and smaller environment help build tension, especially with it's 2 colors, though Poppy Playtime has a much wider color palette, which takes away from it's fear factor. What's worse is the price, as Poppy Playtimes team decided to make the first chapter free, but double the price of the 2nd chapter compared to the first's, which is an extremely scummy move.

Don't give any money to the people behind this "passion" project.
